What wires to use for lights, etc?
I looked at my fuse block and there are 4 "spare" fuses. Anyone know where the wires terminate? Color codes?
Also, there is a spare wire that comes out of the loom that goes to the cigarette lighter. The wire looks like it has a butt connector and is switched hot. Is this going to one of the "spare" fuses?

Not to be stupid but where is the fuse block? I checked the index in the owners manual and it's not listed.

I think you can also T onto the wire for the winch. It is a red wire with a black rubber connector.

If you're going to install anything that draws a decent amount of current you will want to give it its own circuit.
Nothing worse than popping a fuse and shutting down another needed component.
I feel much better running allmy accessories on their own system.

Thanks for asking. I've looked under the seats by the battery for a long time and gave up.

That looks good. What did you use for switched hot? I'd like to make sure some things can only run when the key is on.

Re: What wires to use for lights, etc?
I took my switched power from the ignition switch, the current draw to throw the relays is low so it works out nice.
I installed a seperate fused switch box at the dash, I haven't labeled it yet but it works well.
Here's a photo of the color coded wires from the switches.

What is the best way to route wires from the dash to the battery area?

Re: What wires to use for lights, etc?
I used a wire puller (had the wire wrapped in the insulation you see in the photo) and then just pulled it though. I routed my wire harness along the frame on the left side and then ran it next to the existing wiring harnesses.
It looks factory and if I want to remove my wiring, it's easy as I didn't tie into the existing harness.

Before I retired this year, my speciality was electrical diagnosis and CAN data repair in todays MBZ. I'm also a Polaris Certified Technician and owned a Polaris/Sugar Sand dealership for years. I do some other things now but mostly hang with the Polaris boys at the Green Hulk.

Do you happen to remember what color the wire is?

Re: What wires to use for lights, etc?
There's an orange accessory wire tied up by the lighter socket. It has a female bullet connector already on it. This is where Polaris connects the winch contactor (relay) and it would be OK for an IPOD, GPS, etc but don't pass lots of current through it or the ignition switch will likely fail early.

This might help figure out the wiring under the dash:
