Electrical Problems with Tail Lights

I had my RZR worked on by the dealer last November 2007. I have noticed some electrical problems. My battery has a hard time keeping charged, and when I drive (with no lights on), the tail lights stay on, and the headlights light on the switch is always on even when the lights are off. Are both of these normal? I don't remember what they did before the service.

The tail lights do stay on for safety. Get brighter when you apply brakes.
Light on the switch is just to illuminate the switch--makes it easier to find in the dark. Always on when the key is On.

The battery charging issue unfortunately is also normal--much worse if you drive slow in Hi gear. The regulator gets very hot trying to keep the ignition, electronics and lights going with available power from the stator at a minimum (low rpms). Use Low range as much as possible when driving slow to keep the revs (and the charging current) up.
The 09's have the regulator mounted right in front of the radiator where it gets more fresh air. A very good mod to do to 08 Rzrs.

Polaris or some aftermarket company might make a retrofit harness & bracket to relocate your regulator. Til then you are on your own.
