Hella 500 Lights
Got a set and mounted them to the bumper. They are very nice lights, so nice I got another set for the roll bar. The second set however was not sealed, was partially assembled and the injection molding looked cheap and sloppy, the switch was cheap and parts were missing. On closer inspection I see the first set was "Made in Germany" the second set was "Made in Mexico". Same make same model same price. I expect Hella is making a larger profit on the Mexican parts. Another company gone to Hella

Re: Hella 500 Lights
Have you powered them all up yet? I put 6 on mine w/ a yellow optima battery and my alternator is not keeping up with the demand. Battery light comes on and breaks up over 35 mph. Shut them off and it runs fine.

Re: Hella 500 Lights
you can convert those to hid's pretty easy. i have 4 of them on my light rack plus the stock replacements and i have never had my batery light come on. just a thought.
just open them up and read the bulb type and the kits are cheap now.

Re: Hella 500 Lights
Do you just replace the bulbs or is there other equipment needed to convert over for the stock lights or the six that I added. I also heard about changing the taillights to LED which supposedly draws less also, is this true?
