Hey folks,

I am part of a large QUAD group, for a lack of a better solution at the time, for communication we adopted marine radio’s VHF because they were waterproof. 30 of us are setup that way, so very difficult for me to propose change at this time.

I am looking for mount for my RZR-S for the radio and antenna.

This is my radio:

Antenna;

This is my antenna

Shakespeare Marine Antennas Specifications: Galaxy Little Giant™ 5400-XT VHF Marine Band

I have seen many members do creative things and this is why I am asking for your help.

Many thanks folks...

For some reason I can't get to the web site for your Uniden. It shows error.
In most cases you can mount the radio under the dash and if you go to any truck stop they have a verity of different ant. mounts. When I use mine I just bought a strike plate and hooked the ant. through that connected to top of roll cage.
Not sure if this will help you or not but gave it a shot.:popcorn:

I corrected the link :), for the radio I wanted something that looked nice mounted under the dash, the antenna is my concern, the thing is 4 feet high, I was wondering if there was an aftermarket mount of some sort...

Give UTV Inc a call. I saw one of their roll bar clamps used as an improvised mount to hold the base of the antenna wire to the cage so the antenna could be hooked up to it.

Your radio should have come with a mounting bracket that would allow you to install it under the dash. If not, I am sure they sell it as an accessory. If that doesn't work, you can also call Rugged Radios and ask them what the size of their bracket is to see if you can adapt it to your radio.

For the antenna, I used a strap mount from Ram-Mount.com (RAM-B-231-2). The ball was ditched and I fabbed a small piece of flat metal for it to accommodate a standard roof mount antenna. Very secure, I'm happy.

To mount the radio I used a small piece of angle to span the two metal supports under the center of the dash, and then bolted my radio's included bracket to that.

i mounted my unit on the ceiling of the roof in line with my seats. My mike hangs on the back top roll cage bar and the antena is mounted on the passager side hood above the wheel close to the windshield, That works real well when you want the whip out of the way as it tucks naturally under the roof, I did not like the whip mounted on the back as I go through lots of trees and low hanging bush and it tends to get caught up.

It works real well for me :)
