SIMPLE audio
I cant remember where I saw it but someone had their rzr audio set up with their ipod a small amp and a speaker. Does anyone have any pictures or info on this setup? Eliminating the need for a head unit makes the cost alot more reasonable.

Re: SIMPLE audio
I dont have pictures handy. But I mounted my 200w amp under the "dash" have the RCA to headphone jack connector and wired up to 6" speakers on the cage. It's a perfect set up and very little to worry about, take the ipod with you, the amp is hidden from plain sight and the speakers look like fog lights.
I'll post pictures this afternoon.
p.s. I also use a shuffle instead of my nano as its flash and next to nothing to be ruined from the elements.

Re: SIMPLE audio
It is easy to do. I have a small Sony 222Watt amp that I sealed up for the power. I connected the remote power (the on signal) to a switch mounted on the dash so that I could have it on with out the key on and have it off when I wasn't wanting sound. I mounted a clear topped pelican case to the dash and lined it with foam and sealed the headphine jack into the bottom of the case. I just used a simple cable from Radio Shack that goes from a male RCA (Red and White) connectors to the male headphone jack on the other end. I mounted the amp under the dash up high above where the Polaris factory radio would mount. Then for speakers I used Kicker KTM6 Marine grade wakeboard pods that have stainless clams to clamp to the roll bar. Lastly, I am sewing up fabric drawstring bags to cover the speakers when I go mudding (Kinda like a coffee filter!). I went this route because it was cheap, the chances of a CD head unit surviving is limited, and my MP3 is also a radio. There are a number of things you can do to ensure the components survive. Good luck with your project.

Re: SIMPLE audio
The speakers sit to the outside of the drivers head.
It is too loud for my ears at idle, and at wot you can hear every word.
Same setup as posted before, amp, speakers, ipod.

Re: SIMPLE audio
We have molded 6x9 fiberglass pods that sit in the upper footwells. You can use our 200 or 500 watt amp. ipod plugs into a jack on the shifter console and there is a volume knob on the dash. Amp mounts in the upper passanger footwell or under the dash cover. The whole kit including wiring, stainless hardare etc... complete is only $449.95 with the 200 watt amp or $499 with the 500watt amp.
These pods are designed to fit GEN1 rzr's. They do fit a gen 2 but we will have specific fit gen2 pods avaliable shortly.
