is anyone running an aftermarket battery on their razor? i have been looking at the odyssey batteries. what other kinds are yall running? looking for stock size battery but high output. thanks

after doing a search on here i found where some people are using a odyssey battery but its not fitting in the stock location. sorry for another post asking bout these batteries guys. should have done the search first. still need to know a part number for a direct replacement for the stock battery with an odyssey battery or is there such a thing.

In the newest sxs magazine there is a replacement battery and box for the rzr. looks like a good product.

i droped my oddesy 925 right in .....mine is a 2nd gen rzr no cutting just turned it on its side and hooked it up took 5 min to do....stock battery hold down also 0 as in no modifacations at all

yep,a 925 drops right in. i bent the battery strap slightly to fit better and i trimmed the 'ears' of the battery box towards the back of the RZR to make it easier to get the bolts into the battery.

I am happy with my Optima yellow top. I got an aftermarket holder on ebay.

EMP sells a replacement battery holder for a full size Optima.

So, which one is a 925? Yellow, Red or Blue?

i got the battery trey from sidexsidesports. then i got an exide o6 battery (basically the same as an optima. do not let anyone in fooling you that the battery trey drops right in. mine was a pain had to move wiring harness and cut out factory box. the exide is taller than an optima so the bar that holds the battery in place doesn't fit perfect i used several zip ties and fashioned me a bolt. it has worked great. i am running 5 piaa lights, winch, 200w amp speakers and ipod. i will soon add a cigarette lighter seeing as it is hard as hell to light one running 30+ mph in the woods...haha

You got a totally different battery than was being discussed. The Odyssey is also completely different than the Optima and Orbital(Exide). The Orbital has a larger outer casing and will not drop right in place. The Optima won't either without cutting out the plastic OEM case in the Gen2 and using one of the aftermarket metal brackets.

The Odyssey 925 is about 40% smaller than either the Optima or Orbital and literally drops right into the Gen2 battery tray. You only have to do minor trimming of plastic on the backside to make the terminals easier to access.

I prefer the Odyssey batteries over the Optima and Orbital for the size and the warranty(3year replacment) and just overall quality.

So, which one is the optima 925?

yep. optima is like a full size car battery. Either red, blue or yellow.
Odessy is 2/3 the size and more power cranking power then an optima, but maybe less reserve time due to size.

My customer had an Interstate Batt rep (optima) come into his shop to get him to swap battery lines. They tested the optima and it put out around 850 amps. The Odessy pc925 put out 1127. The rep was shocked, took his battery and went home. Both are good, we've used both. It's like Ford or Chevy. All preference

So, will the odyssy 925 fit in the Gen 1? Also, does it have more reserve than the stocker?
