Battery?
Surprised they put such a dinky battery in the RZR. Now why did the cut corners like that? The carrier looks big enough for the same battery as my Sportsman 800. Anyone know with out me doing a bunch of R & R?

Ebay has a new tray that will hold a optima battery.

Re: Battery?
I was told that you can order a battery box for a Ranger, it is twice the size. It fits right in and uses the existing holes to mount.

Re: Battery?
my buddy said that the stock battery out of his rhino fits good in the little compartment and he just made a strap to hold it downa nd just ran then together for more compacity. just what ive herd but i know those are a lot cheaper then a new optima
dose anyone know how much you can draw off of the system, i had hid is my headlights and im gonna put 4 hella 6.5 inch HIDs on a light rack and just wanna make sure in not gonna kill my electrical system.
and also is an optina the best way to go?
Thanks Brad

Re: Battery?
No
The Odyssey 925 battery is the way to go its better than the optima , lighter , more power and fits perfect in the gen2 stock battery hole with no mods. If you have a gen1 rzr then you need to fab up or build a battery box.
brad4021
The rzr has a 500w system but people say it seems to be overrated. I have hids in the stock location on my rzr and as you know they draw less than stock.
I think you will be fine running all hid lights if you get an Odyssey 925

Re: Battery?
No its a gen 2 . You will need to fab or buy a battery box to make it work in a gen1.
This battery is still better than two stock ones put together because the odessey 925 has deep cycle to"acts like a boat battery" . Its like two batteries in one so far theres no other battery that does this.

That's just advertising hype. The Odyssey is an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology battery. These can be bought from most places that sell batteries.
The Odyssey might be the best, I don't know, but it's not unique.

Re: Battery?
Ok,
I decided on the Optima yellow top, I picked one up today, now I am waiting on the battery box from ebay made for the RZR and I also found a lid made by Optima for the battery, looks rely nice and covers the connections.
so now my HID headlights should work without the relay switch. i figure the fewer the connections the better.
I spent way more than I figured - since I wasn't going to do any of this right now, but I wanted those HID headlights to be right. I am done with the Mods for awhile.
anyway I now have a extra stock battery and holder.

Re: Battery?
Along the lines of other larger batteries with easy fitment.
The Ranger stuff works just fine and with a good battery, your electrical system will thank you.
Stock
Ranger Items
Installed with an AMG battery.

What's the model number on the Yellow Top you used?
