Re: Gauges fitted

looks like a good idea. How'd you install/hook em up?

As for the stickers, I've got to do that too. My "better half" is into crafting and has this stuff called "Goo Gone" I'm gonna try on 'em.

Re: Gauges fitted

G'day
Thanks for the comments
Stevec both gauges positive are hook up to ignition the volts is earthed to the large earth under seat.
The temp is electrical and the sender we put in the engine, there is a lower drain hole at the bottom of the block underneath the water thermostat. The wires have been run under the floor with a 5 amp fuse. Red led lighting to match the main gauge.
We fabricated a mount for the gauges to fit the steering column.
Interesting to see how the Goo Gone goes!
Only good thing about warning stickers it gives you something to read if you break down!

Re: Gauges fitted

Thanks for the details. I may check out that drain plug. The temp was what I was curious about.

Don't see your location in your profile, but I'll take a wild-a** guess and say you're "down-under"? I've always dreamed about visiting there for awhile but will probably not make it.

As for the Goo-gone, I'm positive it'll work. I've used it before on things like this. It's a little bit of work but not bad. Let me know if you want some and can't get it. I'll snail mail you some even though it'd probably take a while.

Re: Gauges fitted

I used Breaf-free gun cleaner on my stickers and after it soaked in for about half hour, all my stickers simply peeled off in one piece.I was surprised it worked that easily.

Re: Gauges fitted

I installed a temp guage in the dash only to discover that the radiator does not have a drain plug where I could install the sender - duh! Should've checked first but then I had one on all my previous Spotrsmans and they all had a drain plug. So the guage has just been sitting there looking pretty but not connected. I've been looking for a housing for the sender and actually found one at UTV Crap but it wouldn't fit the sender. I can't wait to look for that drainhole by the thermostat!

Re: Gauges fitted

Use a hair dryer first to warm up the stickers, this will allow you to peel them off and then use goo gone. Works every time for me.

looks like you might have to replace with a boost gauge and then you have to buy a turbo so you have something to hook it to then maybe long travel does it ever stop. LOL
Install looks great love the mount

Re: Gauges fitted

If you remove the cover behind the seat you will see the thermostat housing. There is a screw in the housing now, I'm betting you can remove this screw and thread in an electrical water temperature guage sensor. You might need to drill and tap it if the thread size is to small.
On my 07 Sportsman 800, the housing had a blind hole which I drilled and tapped for an 1-1/2 Equus Electrical Water Temp Gauge (see pic).http://www.rzrforums.net/attachment....d=121323280 7
