has anyone did a alternator project on their RZR? if so, who has it been working? A write up would be great as well.

bump, anyone have experience with this? i would like to run more electronic gadgets

I've read or seen one online somewhere.... And it's a Stator (I think) your looking for.

rpm makes a kit, its a alternator kit. a alternator is a external generator that creates current. Well a stator is a internal winding that is stationary and the motor revolves around it with magnets that creates energy. A stator can be rewound for more energy, but a alternator can produce more energy to run more gadgets & devices

I'm surprised no one has any answers for this. You'd think someone would've tackled this project already.

I was wondering about the alternator thing myself because my battery got drained down when the wife and I went riding this past weekend and we were several miles from the truck.

on e- bay their is a guy selling a alternator kit.... its a small toyota i think he siad but a 1 wire job with builtin voltage regulator..... it hooks up to the crank with a pully and a mounting bracket i supose you would have to dissable the stock stator some how i have a oddesy battery and the stock on in mine i run 6 hids and a 1,ooo watt amp for my stereo and wile slow riding it starts to drain but if i run 4 lights and the radio its ok or just get the rpm up more... but go look on e-bay i think it was around 400 to 500 bucks....hey john change your profile pic i want to see the new rzr with ltr and stuff...lol john

the guy online is RPMfab. this is the only alternator kit for the RZR that i know of.

But I spent like $500 bucks and 20 hrs on that paint only to see it destroyed by my buddy (on accident) the 2nd trip out!! I figue all that work I should atleast get a pic out of it!! Ok FINE!! ^== There you go but how do you post that second picture? How to add pics in the signature line?
