Alternator or Stator/Magneto Problems
OK, lets see if I got this right:
Specs on RZR call it a 500w Alternator
Service Manual call it a Stator
Part cat call it a Magneto
Well I think now I know why Batt goes dead.
Note on Service Manual:
Low Battery and Over Voltage
This Waring usually indicates that the vehicle is opearing at an RPM too LOW to keep the battery charged. It may also occur when the engine is at IDLE and high electrical load (lights, cooling fan, accessories) is applied.
Drive at high RPM or recharge the battery to clear the warning.
Ok so it looks like we have a Electrical Generator System Type, I had this in my sandrail and had same problems.
1. If you had this system in your car and not an Alternator like we do your car battery will be dead in no time and your car will jest die all the time.
2. By running your RZR in IDlE and jest your fan comes on it will kill your battery.
3. By running your RZR in IDlE and jest your lights are on it will kill your battery.
4. Forget about addeing any ACCESSORIES or it will kill your battery.
5. YOU NEED TO RIDE YOUR RZR LIKE "BAT OUT OF HELL" jest to keep your battery charge or charge it after a slow ride ????????

Re: Alternator or Stator/Magneto Problems
Most of us are just running a much larger deep cycle type battery and have no charging lamp indicator.
