Optima or Odessy Battery for RZR
Need input to run my 5 85W lights, regural driving and rear light + light Whip.
When I am running all lights and going at high speeds, still draw downs the original battery and RZR will DIE ;-(
Optima or Odessy battery. Red or Yellow top
Part number of the better one and does it fit into the same space as the original one ;-)

Re: Optima or Odessy Battery for RZR
A lot of the guy's with optima have been having problems...I bought the Odyssey 925L off Ebay for $149 delivered to my door...stood it up sideways in the original bracket but i cut the brace on the front of the original bracket and bent it out so it would accept the 925 Odyssey Battery...have not had any problems at all...just got back from Glamis night riding each night and I thought I would hook it up and charge it back up as I figured it would be drawn down...it was fully charged when I hooked it up....so I checked the voltage and it was 13.0 which is good...so the Odyssey will hold it's charge and stay charged on the RZR I just don't like the extra weight I think it is like 25 lbs and the stocker is 11 lbs?, but it is down low for COG....

Re: Optima or Odessy Battery for RZR
Search Google: Optima Battery Failure...also I talked to a couple of guys that have had problems with the Optima, they said they must be making them cheaper or by a different method now...I don't know anything about batteries, but I do know that my children left my lights on the RZR on until the Odyssey was completely discharged...I charged it over night and it has never looked back if you did that to a Wet Cell Battery (Which I have a couple of times) it would never come back...so I am really pleased with the Odyssey....

I thought this was quite funny! the RZR only has 500 Watts total running power. How are you going to put 425 Watts of lights on it? You need HID's
You could install a truck battery in it and it still won't charge!

Re: Optima or Odessy Battery for RZR
um either way you go with huge draws like you guys are talking about a battery made out of gold still wont work you cant get out of them any more then you put in so you need to use a charger and charge them at night and the odessy you need a charger that will charge like the 3 AMP SUPER CHARGER its really called a "super charger" the battery tenders dont put out enough juice at 800 mh so if you need juice use a good charger when you pull back into camp after running lights and or the 20000 watt stereo system then youll always be ready to rock we dont stock them at the store but we can order some up if you guys need them it think they are about 59.00

Re: Optima or Odessy Battery for RZR
I have installed a voltmeter in mine to keep track of things. So far what I have noticed is the fan is the biggest draw.
I will be installing a water temp gauge to keep track of temps. It does seem like the fan comes on quite often.
