Any electrical GURU's???
I saw THIS the other day and was wondering if anyone understands exactly how this is done so I can do this to the RZR? I really like the idea of NOT having to add any external switches, just relays that will tuck up under the dash neatly and out of the elements. Their kit seems to be reasonably priced and wouldn't mind paying what they want for it but I like to know how they accomplished this before hand. Any help/info is much appreciated.

Re: Any electrical GURU's???
You could do the same thing with only one relay depending on how the tranny switch works. If the switch uses the battery voltage to indicate the gear, than that same wire could supply enough power to energize the relay turning it on and the lights. The RZR backup lights could be used to do the same thing when not in reverse.
The tranny switch is just a 5 position switch with one common pole connected to a 6 wire connector. The common is switched into the other 5 poles to indicate gears. The common could be ground or battery voltage. It could be measured at the connector from the brown/red wire.

It scares me a bit to see someone offering a kit with scotch locks. I hate those cheap pieces of connector junk

I have no doubt, they are only offered to be user friendly. Not everyone is comfortable with cutting, splicing, or soldering.

Re: Any electrical GURU's???
you could do it with a dpdt relay, but just splicing into it will get you in trouble.. rzr range switch works with a resistor pack if you just start splicing in and driving your ligts from there, you're going to introduce a different resistance and the digital dash wont be able to tell what gear your in.. this same question was covered and diagrammed on prc if you're interested in doing it.
