Re: Gear Case Lift Plates?

This is copied right from our web site:
"Gearcase Lift Plates (AKA: Motor Mount Spacers)
Lifts the front of the motor and transmission cases for better ground clearance.
The stock motor mount location allows the motor and transmission cases to hang below the bottom of the frame rails.
The Holz Racing Products Gearcase Lift Plates will help to better protect the underside of your expensive gearcase housings from impact by raising them out of harms way.
..A perfect addition to our already popular Billet Motor Mount set"

The front of the transmission actually hangs below the frame rail about 1/8"
This will help keep you from smacking it on a rock.

These literally just came out
RZR, RZR-S, RZR-4 Gearcase Lift Plates [618014] - $18.95 : Holz Racing Products, Race Proven Engineering

They're only $18.95 a set, pretty cheap insurance

Re: Gear Case Lift Plates?

Why is there not a third plate for the rear mount?
Inquiring minds want to know "why or why not"?

Until Holz can offer their answer ........

All the drive train components are 1st bolted together -- engine/trans/transfercase and rear end. Then - This assembly is mounted to the frame - Triangulated - In 3 points. 2 mounts are forward and one mount is centered and rearward. This 3rd mount is attached to the rear end - On top of the case.

By raising the 2 front mounts - The complete drivetrain assembly then pivots on the rear mount.

Looks like their approach/kit brings all the cases up just enough for frame protection instead of the other way around.

Just thinkin out loud ............

Re: Gear Case Lift Plates?

I figured the rear was a pivot point for the forward two but why not raise the rear?

The Gearcase Lift Plates only address the issue of the motor and trans case housings hanging below the frame rail by raising the 2 front mounts just enough to get them out of harms way. As stated earlier- the rear diff mount is the pivot point so it is not affected one way or another. Actually, raising or lowering the rear diff would probably do more harm than good anyway.

The issue of the rear diff housing and CV hitting against the frame can be fixed by upgrading to our billet motor mounts. The stock rubber damped mounts are too soft therefore allowing the diff/drivetrain to move excessivley under load. This leads to more problems than just the diff hitting the frame.

2 different issues. 2 fixes. Same general location.

I hear the question often "will this harm my drive line angle?"
The answer is NO.

I had my first ride with them....they are great for the peace of mind!
I got em after I smacked my transfer case through an aluminum skid plate hard enough to cause a small leak in the seal. Now I have to pull the motor and tranny to fix it.....lol Just getting these are well worth it IMHO.
How much are the stage 3 BB kits again?
