Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
With a Honda RC-51 setup I should be putting down 130 to 150HP. How many paddles for the Skats? I was thinking 10 but it seems some of the higher HP turbos went to 12 paddles. I am going with either 26 or maybe even 27in for the rears and 26in smoothies up front ... sick of bottoming out on frame in transitions and it wont be just a hill shooter ... I like to dune.

Re: Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
I have tried skat-trak extreme 26x12x12's with 8, 9, 10 & 12 paddles on my Weber using a 12x10 wheel and I am not convinced that I like any of them... If I were you I'd call Joe at Fullerton Sand Sports (714.484.5996) and pick his brain... He has been selling paddles for 30+ years and is super knowledgeable about all applications. With that amount of HP in a UTV you are entering a grey area and I don't think it's easily answered... I'm at the point now where I am going to try a 9 or 10-paddle skat-trak ripper in 26x12x12. I think the taller/larger ripper paddle (1-1/8" x 13") won't bend/deflect as much as the smaller extreme paddle (7/8"x11") does...
I've had indepth conversations with him and he has recommended that I try a comp cut 26" 16-paddle STU Padla Trak. Since STU's tires are manufactured as actual sand tires they are going to be a true 26" tall; so in order to get a true 26" mohawk from I'll have to buy 28" Mud Lites to but buffed down as fronts. Honestly I am so tired of buying paddles/tires/wheels in general I just havent found the energy to pull the trigger. My wife was telling me that I need to quit the brick business and open up a damn tire shop... Either way, give Joe a call and see what he has to say... Good luck!!!

Re: Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
I am thinking the STUs might be the way to go.
The guys in the UAE with combo turbo and nitrous on their RZRs are using them. K&T won the drags at Moab last month with them... I was wondering what they would use for a front buff... the 28" mud tire buffed down to 26" makes sense. I have not tried a mohawk, just buffs...

Re: Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
Go with the Blasters, great setup and we have Smoothies to match for the front. Look at K&Ts car and the Fireball 10 over kit. We also distribute and install the Fireball Kits, I was part of that test weekend and all I can say is WOW !!! Had multiple other cars with suspension on them that said " Were not trying that" !!!!!!

Re: Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
The Blasters need the 12x10 wheels.
Retail pricing for tires and wheels is $ 856.00 for the Comp cuts. $ 696.00 for the Std. Give us a call for RZRforum discount. Dave - Fullerton Sand Sports |

Re: Paddles for 130 to 150HP?
![]() Might as well say I have had 7 rear sets as my current STU Blaster 26in were tested in several different cuts. I do think the Blaster is definetly one to keep in mind for the high HP RZRs ... Busa rails run these and might be our best comparison but they can get up into the plastics with the #2 paddle even with long travel and would certainly comp cut them.
