The 2008 Sand Addiction Magazine “Easter Extravaganza”




Schedule of Events

Friday, March 21________________________________________________ ___________
GPS Night Ride Friday: Registration Open 2–7 p. m.; ride from 8 –10 p. m.
The GPS Night Ride is the first event to kick off the Easter Extravaganza. This will be a medium- paced ride, lead by advanced duners using GPS through the dunes, bowls, and some of the popular night locations Glamis has to offer.
Saturday, March 22________________________________________________ ___________
Easter egg hunt Friday: Registration opens 2 – 7 p.m. & Saturday 7 — 8a.m.
Easter egg hunt: 8:15 a.m. – 9: 15 a.m.
The Easter extravaganza wouldn’t be complete without a family tradition – An Easter egg hunt! The egg hunt is for all ages, from toddlers to 10-year-olds. We ask that all children be accompanied by adults at all times. We also ask, in order to be fair to the younger children, that children age 5 through 10 limit themselves to five eggs each. Thank you for your understanding
Kids Zone Saturday: Open at hospitality area 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This is a place where kids can be kids and do what they do best, use their imagination by designing there own sand cars or quads in the Kids Coloring Corner.
Scavenger Hunt Friday: Registration opens 2 – 7 p.m. & Saturday 8 – 10 a.m. Scavenger Hunt: 10 a.m. – 12 Noon
This is a poker run-type event that offers lots of fun and exciting prizes. There will be seven stops, and everyone who participates has the opportunity to win great prizes at the raffle drawing at 1:30 p.m. You must be present to win. For more information, to register for the event, or to read official rules of the hunt, please visit the registration desk in the hospitality area.
Show & Shine Saturday: Registration 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; Show 1 – 2 p.m.
Included in your registration bag are two tickets, which you can use to vote for your favorite UTV, sand car, or ATV at the Show & Shine on Saturday. Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. If you would like to enter your UTV, sand car, or ATV in the Show & Shine, please visit the registration desk in the hospitality area. Grand prize for the Show & Shine contest is a feature of your vehicle in Sand Addiction Magazine.
Lunch Friday: Registration 2 – 7 p.m. & Saturday 8 a.m. – 12 Noon
Barbecue 12 Noon –2 p.m.
Lunch will be available for those registered for the week and events. The menu includes: hot dogs, hamburgers, potato chips, and a soft drink. During lunch, the Show & Shine contest will take place. Also at this time we will have the raffle from the Scavenger Hunt. After the raffle, we will have the awards ceremony for the Show & Shine contest.
Raffle Saturday: Raffle 2 – 3 p.m.
This is the raffle for the Scavenger Hunt. At this time we will also judge the winners of the Show & Shine contest. Winners must be present to win.
Sunset Ride Saturday: Ride 4 – 6 p.m.
This will be a fun ride through the dunes to the sand drags on the western side of Glamis. After leaving the sand drags, we will head through the dunes to Oldsmobile Hill and, if the timing is in our favor, we’ll see a beautiful sunset from atop Oldsmobile. We will finish off with a nice ride back to camp.
Movie/ Bonfire Saturday: Bonfire begins at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: Movie begins at 8 p.m.
Family-friendly movie is to be determined.
Sunday, March 23________________________________________________ ______________
Glamis Clean-Up 7 a.m. – 12 Noon
It’s important that we preserve and protect the environment were we play. With the ever growing challenges of anti-access groups, we as users need to do our part. It’s important that we teach our kids the need to clean up after ourselves before we leave. Sand Addiction Magazine will offer a three (3) issue complimentary subscription to every family who brings a minimum of two bags of trash back to the hospitality area.

2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Raffle for the scavenger hunt / Show & Shine -must be present to win
4 p.m. –6 p.m. Sunset ride, starting from hospitality area
7:30 p.m. Bonfire begins
8 p.m. Movie begins

Individual registrant’s options:
Child registration - $10 – Includes gift bag, meals, and event entry
Adult registration - $15 – Includes gift bag, meals, and event entry
Scavenger Hunt - $25 - Each additional entire
ATV Certification Courses
Classes available for children and adults.
Ages 6 to 11 (on 50cc machines)
Ages 12 to 15 (on 70-90cc machines)
16+ (on 90+ machines)
Classes are free for children under age 18 through a State of California subsidy.
Classes are $125 per student for participants 18 years and older.
*Many ATV manufacturers will pay for certification classes if participants are riding a newly purchased, appropriately sized unit. To see a list of participating manufacturers, visit ATV Safety Institute
Class participants must bring the following gear:
Helmet
Goggles or windshield
Over-the-ankle boots
Full-finger gloves
Long-sleeve shirt
Pants
At the end of the course, participants will receive an ASI Completion Card. Once the necessary paperwork is filed, participants will also be certified with the State of California.

*Mention the Sand Addiction class in Glamis to enroll for the course being held on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Two sessions will be held: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.**Wrist bands must be worn at all times to be in the event area. Additional wristbands are available

Saw the pics on your site... Too funny

We went to Hawaii and rented a Hummer to go climb the trails. We never really get away from the need for speed lol.

wish I was able to go. we just got back and the sand was in amazing shape. Winds 20 - 30mph from last Thursday til Monday.

Virgin sand all weekend, but got sand in places I didnt think was possible.

I saw you on your way out, stopped on the side of the road in Beaumont. You were sitting on the off ramp to my house. I was going to stop and see if you need any help but it looked like you were walking your dogs. The chrome cage gives you like 1 or 2 mph on the top end. i like

We were walking our Cat that thinks he is a dog. He loves to camp and rides in the RZR.
