From what i understand its 1000cc and less side by side. And if you have a ranger or a rhino that you converted into a 4 seater those are a no go for rear passengers also.

Re: NEw Helmet Law

I definitely feel that restraints are a must!!! But when it comes to this new helmet law, I feel that it's BS!! It should definitely be upon our own choise if we want to wear one! Or atleast make it to where you need to be ( 16, 18, or 21 ) not saying I wouldn't make my kids wear one, because I would!!

I think I read somewhere that after they "revised" this law, the CC limit was thrown out, also I think the actual verbage says nothing about a CC limit. So that means all "OHV's" have to have helmets. But I could be wrong.

Re: NEw Helmet Law

Does anyone know if a Rzr that has an AZ license plate would be exempt?

Doesnt matter where you or the machine is from or registered. In California you have to follow California law.

Re: NEw Helmet Law

OK it is the New Year! What is everyone wearing? What style & brand do you have or plan on getting before your next ride?

A new helmet I ordered came in today. I have to go down to the store and try it out to see if it is what I want. If I like it I will post up what I am trying. Bummer part is many of the helmets I want to try are not stocked. So I have to order & pay for them to have the store bring them in. I can try them on in the store and if I don't like it they will refund my money. PITA!

Re: NEw Helmet Law

I wear a 3/4 lid on my streetbike, and I'll wear the same thing in the RZR.

Only part that sucks is that it will get dinged up by the cage bc of my height - I'm a SCH under 6'4" and there aint much clearance there to begin with.

Riding reasonably, my head is still a couple of inches away from the cage. With the helmet, it will be pinned to the cage with every bump. Sure hope I don't injure my neck.

Re: NEw Helmet Law

I believe there was an amendment to the law that postpones the aftermarket rear seat as well as having to touch floor with feet while backs are against seat. If I'm correct, these parts of the law do not go into effect until July 1, 2013.

Also I believe these laws only apply to anything that came from the factory with less than 1000cc.

Catch me if you can!!
