Re: razor will not start

ditto on solenoid, or if its not working and has no signal to start check brake pressure switch, or might be starter itself....

Re: razor will not start

If not the solenoid then chances are the starter is shot. There's a bearing in the cover for the armature shaft that goes bad and then the starter won't work or seems sluggish (like a weak battery). You can get rebuild kits off ebay cheap but if the bearing is really toasted it's practically impossible to get it out of the cover without doing damage (that's what I ran into and had to get a new starter). Funny thing about it is according to the factory service manual if the bearing is bad it says to replace the cover/bearing assembly. Guess what you can't get from Polaris, the manufacturer of the starter, or any aftermarket places? Yep, the cover/bearing assembly-lol

Re: razor will not start

X2, i bought a rebuild kit also. I finally did get the bearing out of my armature, but the shaft was so scared up that it would not work, those bearings in the starters are a joke, like Mickey Mouse stuff. I thought i was never going to get that small bearing out after it was seized in there. If starter goes out, just buy a new one. JMO

Re: razor will not start

Most likely the starter solenoid, I replaced one not long ago, mine would just click and my first thought was starter solenoid, replaced it and no problems since.
