Throttle sticks and Drive hard to find sometimes

When it gets wet and cold outside do any of you have an issue with the throttle sticking wide open?

Also do your RZR's grind gears once in a while when you try and find forward or reverse?

I'm looking to see if this is a one off problem or if everyone has them.

Thanks.

Yes mine stuck wide open last weekend. There is a upgraded cable you can get. Or try running the throttle cable along the radiator hoses back to the motor. Keeps it from freezing up. If your idling to high it will grind between gears.

There are plenty of other posts about this problem. One work-around, until you get yours fixed, is to simply start it in gear instead of park/neutral. This way you don't have to shift with the engine running.

That was the plan until I started it (in gear) and the throttle stuck wide open and crashed into the barn.

These two don't go well together.

Wrong gear!................................Sorry, can't help not making the comment.

I had that transmission problem and at first thought it was just the detent ball and spring issues. Turned out they had to replace a couple gears. I go get it tomorrow and will have the parts list of what was actually needed. There is another thread on cable issues. Clean it good, use a good dry cable lube and seal up the ends to keep moisture and crap out.

Re: Throttle sticks and Drive hard to find sometimes

Mine would not alway go into gear and would grind at times. the pretty much rebuilt the whole thing. Low and High gear, shifting arm, clutch yoke, bearings springs, seals, and of course the detent ball and spring. Dealer said the new gears have more bevel on the gears so he thinks the 09 has an upgrade.

Glad it was covered on warranty...with the top end and axle seal

Got it back today and plan for a ride tomorrow!

Re: Throttle sticks and Drive hard to find sometimes

I complained to my dealer about trouble shifting into gear and it was fixed under warranty. Maybe its a common issue?
