Another on Bites the Dust

I just talked to yet another guy that blew up his RZR motor because of the stock air filter..

He went straight down to ZBroz Racing and bought their snorkel intake system.. No more worries..

Yes the filter is in the bed, but there is still enough room for a center polaris snap in box and a gas can on the other side. Or if you have the Large Aluminum tool box built by www.ryfabindustries.com you could fit that box over the Zbroz air intake..

Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall from all the intake problem posts, that one of the biggest flaws from the Polaris design is that the air filter is mounted to the frame and not the engine, so that the throttle body and the air filter move in different ways, causing the throttle body boot to become separated from the throttle body. Thus allowing dust and dirt to bypass the air filter entirely. This Zbroz snorkel intake looks like it has the same problem, attached to the frame. He may want to check his throttle body boot occasionally to make sure it really is fixed.

Re: Another on Bites the Dust

The leaking of the Stock RZR air filter sys. comes from the air filter to air box connection not the air box to carb boot connection.

The before mentioned snorkel type filter sys makes a connection at this carb boot junction..

Just trying to address a problem that i see with the Beloved RZR platform..

Re: Another on Bites the Dust

i built that for less then 50 dollars. the filter and prefilter was more expensive then the piping. i would say that system would be a good deal for $120.

Re: Another on Bites the Dust

This guy lives like 2.2" from Zbros "pipe bender"... Zbros stuff look pretty good but IMO they are over priced. If you want to snorkel your RZR save yourself some money do a "Search", read up a bit and get to frickin work fat boy! lol. Pretty easy I would think. Just get a flexible boot for all the joints so you have avalible movement. I've seen pics of many other guys doing home mods of nice looking snorkels.

Re: Another on Bites the Dust

In some other posts he is pushing some ZBros shocks. Needs to be a little less transparent. LOL

Absolutely correct, I fabbed a similar unit that bolted to the tranny. The problem is the k&n still let fine dirt thru, yes it had a foam pre-filter and we had a rubber joint between the final bend and the nozzle that bolted to the bed. I'll sell the whole thing for 100.00 bucks. but your engine will be junk in 15 hrs. With my set up it was impossible for the T/B connection to come off. I can tell you that the parts alone were over 130 bucks and we cut and welded for hours. So 230.00 aint that bad but it wont work...I have a ump now, But we have not tested it yet.
