Exhaust getting cherry red
I have a 2011 Rzr S and noticed the exhaust getting so hot that it glows cherry red. To try to fix this problem I changed the stock exhaust to HMF exhaust and added a Dragon fire G3 fuel controller. I have adjusted the controller every setting possible, the engine temp is normal, but after cruising around for about 10 mins. its cherry red. It doesn't get red at an idle and will cool back down. After driving around for about an hour While trying to make adjustments to the fuel controller you can kill it and maybe 10 mins later restart it and it acts like its flooded.
Any help or information to fix this will be greatly appreciated!! |

Re: Exhaust getting cherry red
welcome to the forum.
if you think it is running too lean you need to test the AFR. without an AFR sensor you are kind of in the dark. do you have any ATV/UTV performance shops in your area that can tune it?

Re: Exhaust getting cherry red
You're either too lean, or your ignition timing is waaaaaaaay retarded. Could also be the exhaust valves hanging open slightly, but, if so, it'd be hard to start. I don't think that's it. Time to go to the dealer and get it checked-out. My two-bits.............
