Need help with part numbers or prices?

hey everybody.
my name is kevin. i have helped a few of you already. my story is i worked at a smaller polaris dealer for about 16 months. i did accessory installs, parts, and sales. i am curently not at work because i went back to school to finish my degree (im only 21 years old)

with that being said, i miss what i did a lot, and i would like to help you guys as much as i can. if you need OEM polaris part numbers, on any part, on just about any polaris machine, i can get that for you! i can also get you the OEM prices on parts and accessories. sometimes i might need a vin# if there is a production date split, but usually year, make, and model is enough.

if you have questions about sales on a polaris machine, i can help. if your dealer seems like they are screwing you, then you can ask me and i can give you an un-biased opinion on how legit their sales fees and prices are.

if you have questions on accessories and install problems, ill try to do my best. i have installed winches on the ATVs and Rangers, i have also done plow installs, cabs, heaters, windshield wipers, brushguards, handwarmers. . .i have done a lot of them!

so please post up questions!!! i miss doing this, and i will try to answer as quickly as possible. my PM box is always open too if you prefer that. the only thing i can not post are dealer cost prices, those are confidental. but i can give you "in the ball park figures" of that kind of stuff.

thanks guys!
give me something to do
-Kevin

Re: Need help with part numbers or prices?

i am assuming you have at least one key, and you know what the 4 digit code is on the key?

i guess im not really to sure because on the Rangers and RZR to get the key you have to buy the whole ignition switch ASM (PN#4012165 and $65.57 OEM) but on the sportsman and ATV's you can get just a key blank for it, and have it cut to duplicate.

i cant get you the key, and the code on the key doesent give the cut pattern, it just describes the lateral cuts that polaris makes. you need to have a duplicate cut from an existing key (our shop doesnt even have a key cutter, our local locksmith does this for us)

my suggestion is go talk to your local dealer. take one of the keys with you. you SHOULDN'T have to buy a whole new switch, so see if they have a stock of various key blanks and try to match them up. the microfiche show just the key blanks for the ATVs, but not on the Rangers.

let me know what they say about this. dont buy the $65 ignition switch! ill try to do some more research in the mean time

Hey Kevin, how about the part numbers for the 09 air box lid that has 3
clips, and the 09 throttle body that has the lip on it, and the new oversize filter.

Those numbers would be nice to have, thanks.

Re: Need help with part numbers or prices?

I think the part numbers for the '08 throttle body and '08 throttle body adaptor are the same as the '09 part numbers for the same two items???? not sure.

Re: Need help with part numbers or prices?

So is the '09 and '08 throttle body the same since they have the same part number? What about the throttle body adaptors? Are they the same?
thanks.

Re: Need help with part numbers or prices?

yes, since they are the same PN they are identical. you take a throttle body or the adapter from an 08 and it would prefectly fit the 09 and vise versa. there is no difference between the two years in those two particular parts
