Garmin GPS ATV maps

Found this, and thought it's quite interesting. Just download to your current gps unit.Hmm
ATVGPS National - atvgps.net

ATVGPS National puts detailed ATV trail maps of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming onto your Garmin GPS. (Click on a state name to view its ATVGPS trails.)

Please note that this set does NOT currently include the following states: AK CT HI ND NE OH RI.

Whether you've got a handlebar-mounted zūmo, a rugged Garmin eTrex, or a popular Garmin nüvi, ATVGPS will turn it into a off-road ATV navigator.

Everyone knows where the roads are and many people use topographic maps to see elevation information. But what about the ATV trails? Trail intersections? Trailhead parking? Our partner, US TrailMaps, has mapped over 10,000 miles of ATV trails, together with the supporting ATV-specific points-of-interest.

It takes less than 30 seconds to put these maps onto your compatible GPS: simply slide the memory card in, check the maps are visible, and off you go!

ATVGPS puts together US TrailMaps' off-road and recreational mapping with Mountain Dynamics' proven experience in delivering and supporting Garmin-compatible maps.

Please use common sense when navigating using ATVGPS, stay on the trails, and be sensitive to the rights of private property owners and land managers who allow access to their land. The presence of a trail on a ATVGPS map does not guarantee that you have access to the trail. Obey posted restrictions and applicable laws.

Re: Garmin GPS ATV maps

There are more trails than what they show around the Prescott, Arizona area... For $50.00 it's worth a try...

Re: Garmin GPS ATV maps

Looking at the maps at the website, it looks an awful lot like the Polaris trail app that I downloaded to my iPhone.

Most of us not in the mountains will probably get signal. If you have a Garmin Nuvi GPS for your Vehicle put in your UTV and see if you get signal. Maybe GPS's are stronger?

Personally I would not buy it. But, I have 2 different GPS's that I use in the RZR, plus the iPhone app could also be used. The app was free.

Re: Garmin GPS ATV maps

Wow, no land between the lakes in KY, no Brimstone, Coal Creek or other NE TN areas. I didnt notice, but do they provide free updates as they actually find more of these trails?

GPS's are satellite-based and will function anywhere that they have an unobstructed view of the sky, whereas cell phones receive their signals from ground-based towers and will operate only, or primarily, on line-of-sight; ie., put a mountain or a forest in the way and you're S-O-L. My two-bits.........

Cheers

Re: Garmin GPS ATV maps

From what I could see on the CA map it looked like people just uploaded track. And not very many at that.
My Garmin shows me All the trails in my area. I also use map source (free down load) to create routes
And it has all trails.
I would not spend the $50

GPS uses satellite not a repeater like the 4g does... A GPS will and does work in the mountains...
