Legal in missouri?

This topic has been hit before but I recently bought an xp which is 64" wide and missouri law says this:

Senate Bills 930 & 947
UTV’s:

Defines “utility vehicle” as “any motorized vehicle manufactured and used exclusively for off-highway use which is sixty-three inches or less in width, with an unladed dry weight of one thousand eight hundred fifty pounds or less, traveling on four or six wheels, to be used primarily for landscaping, lawn care, or maintenance purposes”;

Utility vehicles cannot be operated upon the highways of this state unless they are:
o
Owned and operated by governmental entity for official use,
o
Operated for agricultural or industrial on-premise purposes, or
o
Operated by handicapped persons for short distances on secondary roads; and•
Cities/counties are allowed to issue special permits for utility vehicles to be used on county roads within the county or on highways within the city to licensed drivers for a fee of $15. The fee is to be kept by such city/county.

With that being said why couldn't I give it a try... Hell yes i'm gonna try even if I gotta build a new frame.. STAY TUNED

Re: Legal in missouri?

I would like to know more about this also. I'm in the process of getting a new XP 900 and was wanting to know how to make it street legal or be able to ride it on the roads in Missouri. Keep us updated.

Have been down this road as of now you can not make them road legal , but I ride down at my farm ( gravel roads and paved ) and have passed sheriff and highway patrol with no problems .

Re: Legal in missouri?

So according to laws previously stated you can buy permits to drive on the roads? Is there a list of county's that that allow this? I do live on a farm and use the roads around us for farm related stuff with a Ranger but if I can spend 15$ and drive on more roads then I'm all for that.

Re: Legal in missouri?

Check your county because about 10 years ago it was LEGAL to ride on county roads with an atv. Some counties like washington county required a permit which was $15 a year. I own land in Madison county and they did not require a permit,so it does depend on county. If these laws changed then i apologize for false info.
