What are you guys using to charge your Odyssey batteries? The trickle charger I have won't do it. It says it needs min of 12 amps. What are you using to charge yours and where did you get it?
i have a digital quik charger that varies the amps as it charges works well got a t kragen or auto zone from the comercial section works great on my trailer batterys too
I use a Battery Tender on the Oddessy battery in my hydraulic dump trailer. I plug it in for one or two weeks a month in the Winter...and it goes to a green light...fully charged...in about a week. But it does work!
I picked up a Vector Auto 30/10/2 Amp charger at Lowes on clearance for $44 buck (Normal price was $79). Seems to work pretty good. Has an option for AMG type batteries.
Black and Decker 40 Amp normal, 100 Amp starter charger. All digital, awesome. Put it on the 100 Amp setting and you can pretty much start a completely dead quad or UTV. Also has a setting for AGM batteries, wet cells, and gels. My Odyssey rarely takes more than 3 or 4 amps, though. The charger will only put out what it needs to charge the battery. Starts high and slowly decreases the amperage until it's done.
B & D makes the Vector... They don't say on the box but in the book it says there name and address. Looks like mine is very simular to yours. Just 80 amp start and 30/10/2. What did you pay? I thought this one on clearance was a good deal.
Vector makes Black & Decker Chargers John...they just bought Vector and are marketing Vectors products under B&D...
You got a great charger I have two of them...I paid $99 for the same as you have...does yours have the Metal Battery Clips or Plastic?
I use an AccuMate PRO model 12v-7A-S. It has a program with the slightly higher charge voltage required to fully charge an Odyssey or a deep cycle battery (14.7V). It also has a float stage to keep the battery
at maximum charge. It comes with a harness that you mount on the battery that allows you to just plug in in the cable from the charger, no
lifting the seat to get to the battery needed. You just plug and unplug the cords.
