turbo rzr 0-60 times

I tested my rzr with a vericom 2000 and a g-tech accelerometer to get a 0-60 of 6 seconds flat. I have the mcx turbo running 11.5 psi of boost stacked with the mountain performance box. I dont know the weight but I know this rzr is pretty heavy. It is equipped with 4" long travel, a stereo, optima battery, prp suspension seats, front and rear winshield, and 4 fuego hid lights with there modular lightbar on top. I tested a stock rzr with the same device and it ran 0-60 in 13 sec.

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

Wow you cut the time to less than half of stock! Was the stock rzr loaded with accessories or pretty much bone stock. That is a serious improvement. Also running that high on the boost what type of fuel are you running.

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

Good info jlprince.
I wonder why turbo manufacturers don't advertise this type of info?
Do you have any 0 to 30 times or 0 to 40?
Thats the power range I am interested in for climbing the dunes...

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

Thats a good time. Thats the best bang for the buck. The Weber motor guy says 0-60 in 7 sec. For 9-10K a bunch of BS

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

Jlp, thanks for the info, I'm also running the MXC but with 15#.
With 91 octane for someone who asked.
What belt are you running? What surface are you making the runs on?
I mostly run the sand and find 4X4 to be the fastest.
Do you mash it from a standing start or allow a few feet for the clutch to spool up. Are you running the 80+ weights that come with the turbo kit?
Just interested, But I'm not sure a bit of weight makes much difference with power we produce,
John

I'm also in the 15# range, running the EPI belt with 88 grams. I get better result from the get go by just pre charge the turbo.

If you run an AFR gauge hit the brake pedal and give some gas until you see on the gauge 0 or a bit more and let it go. Better tha smash the gas pedal, day an night difference

Edit: Forgot to mention that I change both clutch springs

What would you do without an AFR?

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

Johnpeq,
Where is the o2 sensor located on the mxc kit before the turbo or after?

I don't believe that is part of the installation,

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

60 is really close to the top end, especially stock.

A 0-40 MPH speed would be MUCH more useful when comparing stock to aftermarket. That, and "most" people "most" places hardly ever have a chance to hit 60MPH, unless you're on the dunes...

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

I think 0-60 is a very good test, because a stock one will do it on pavement no problem. Load it in the sand, and that's a different story. I think a 0-40 would also be a good test, but in all honesty the best test is putting a load on it and running it up a long steep hill. That's where it really shines.

But to get that last 5-10 MPH stock, takes time... because it's "just" within reach of it's top speed.

0-40 might only take 4 seconds, while that last 20mph to 60 may take another 6 seconds... making the 0-60 10 seconds which isn't very useful.

I'm sure we've all felt the low end even bone stock... 40 comes in a flash!

Re: turbo rzr 0-60 times

All the testing was done on pavement. The stock rzr has stock a arms with a polaris brushguard and stereo. Definately lighter than mine. I am running EPI belt with the weights that came with the turbo kit. The mountain performance box helped alot because on launch it was hitting rev limiter BAD. You have to talk to trey about tuning with this box.

If you reach the rev limiter fast means

too much boost for your clutch set up (simple) i have mess around with mine a lot and if your clutch is not set property or you AFR is in correct your up to issues. Period :
