RZR Wrap?

Just recently bought my 2nd RZR S. Had to sell my LE Carbon Fiber edition last year. Anyways this one is Orange/Black and I'm not liking the color. I am looking to wrap the whole RZR (plastics).

My question is, will the plastic warp or anything if I use a heat gun? Trying to find helpful info on here and haven't had much luck. Any help, tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Pics for looking.

Would like to cover the doors with the same material and the dash also.

Thanks again

AZ Re: RZR Wrap?

Yes it'll warp... It will also melt and disfigure easily...

Use a low heat and keep moving it around and you'll be fine...

Re: RZR Wrap?

Thanks for the reply!

I was thinking about taking it all apart and doing it piece by piece. You think that would be better/easier than doing it all assembled?

Low heat, how hot would be too hot? Sorry, new to this whole wrap thing. Don't want to mess up this new RZR.

Re: RZR Wrap?

That is nice!!

What would you reccomend for cleaning wise? I am currently stripping the stickers and stock decals off. Giving my fingertips a break.

Low heat, under 100*?

Re: RZR Wrap?

Use a good hair dryer, does the same trick. Like WheelieBoy said...get them plastics clean. Make sure all the ends are sealed. Any little gaps that dirt can get into will make the vinyl start to peel up.

But I wouldn't worry about melting the plastic. The vinyl becomes "workable" within 2 seconds with a heat gut. It would take a long time with concentrated heat to melt plastic. But like I said, hair dryer is a good alternative, plus it's easier on the hands.

Re: RZR Wrap?

Did you buy application spray? It's not necessary, but if it's your first time it will make it easier for you.

Re: RZR Wrap?

I haven't bought anything yet. Trying to get as much info as possible. I am in the stripping stage.

Does the spray just make it slide around easier? I think I can get the majority of the RZR pretty easy if I just take my time. The part that I'm not sure about is the round part by the roll bar.

Just use a little baby shampoo and water, really just a few drops of it in a spray bottle. Also, a tip that worked good for me was I used a thin cotton cloth wrapped around my card/squeegee and that prevents the vinyl from being scratched while your working it out. After cleaning I spray down the application surface as well as spray the back of the vinyl as you are pealing it off the paper. Hair dryer worked great for stretching everything. Not hard at all, just be patient.

What design/color wrap did you decide to go with? Be sure to post pics when you get done with it.

I am narrowing it down. Still haven't decided on which color(s) I want.

Still in the tearing down, stripping stage. All the fenders are pulled. Working on getting the doors off but I have a full skid plate and believe there is a nut on each side holding the doors on.

I hope to just slowly put it all together in these last couple winter months. Add the light bar and stereo too while I have everything apart. Also want to paint the intercooler piping black so it doesn't stand out so much.

Thanks for all the tips, it's nice to be part of a forum that actually helps each other out.

The fender flares was all I took off when installed graphics. Didn't use no heat gun but did use spray on solution to put on graphics cause my graphics were sticky.

Re: RZR Wrap?

What about to "set it"? What did you use? I've been seeing all different things from cotton gloves to plastic applicators.

Been working with a company and they are telling me all I should buy. I just don't want to buy too much stuff and not actually use any of it.

Post pictures of your RZR's. If you have them wrapped.
