Re: Rzr Tracks ??

Stick with the Camoplast. Best track IMO.... We've had a bunch of them (probably 10+ pair in our group). My dad had the polaris ones and they didnt float or dig as well. They also geared the machine down more. No lift or or mods to install. If you buy used make sure you buy RZR tracks because they use different sized drivers from front to rear.

Try and buy the Camoplast UTV 4S tracks. Should be able to get a new set for around 4k.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

Unless you're in super deep snow I wouldn't get tracks. A good set of tires is more convenient. Rear tracks get caught on logs and it can be a pain to get off. My dad spent over 5k for tracks for his brute only to get stuck on logs and they were basically a pain unless you were in extremely deep snow.

That's just my 2 cents, I'd recommend really trying a set before you buy.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

It doesnt need to be deep snow. You just have to be aware of what you are going over. the front tracks articulate so they climb over things pretty easily. the back tracks will try to run under a log if you dont be careful.

My family and I have more fun with tracks than without during the winter.

I personally think tracks are a joke for the money. I've never had so much trouble with tires that i thought 5 grand was remotely worth it(and I'm the farthest thing from broke, it's not a money issue), and yes I've used them. I guess it's just the sportyness I really crave, I'm just a kid still.

Snow Isn't as fun as I thought it would be, I like going for a rip but long rides can be a pain. I also ride witha rhino and it literally gets stuck in 4wd behind me when I'm ripping in two, that makes long rides worse haha. I can't wait for summer again so I can go more than 50km/h

Yes they will work but you may have to midify the mounting brackets. The biggest problem is that the Rhino used drivers that are the same size front and rear because you can lock the front diff. The RZR uses AWD and will kick in and out of locked 4wd. They reason they use a smaller driver in the rear is to trick the system into thinking the rear in spinning so it stays locked in.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

Ive got a set on a 2011 RZR4 and love them. We have about 24" of snow where I live in Alaska. I bought the Tatou 4s UTV tracks. They float so good. I actually threw one of the front tracks and drove over a mile before we realized it. Finally got stuck in 36" of fresh snow with 3 tracks, thats when we realized we lost one, lol.

On a side note, without the cab and heater, there is no way I would drive it in the winter, with or without tracks. I am now 72" wide, another thing to consider. 36 MPH top speed going downhill on packed snow.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

That's where tracks are awesome, you can't beat tracks for flotation. Hell I can walk a narrow pad D8T in deep snow than a rzr will go and they're 80x the weight. I Rememeber walking down the track my brother made in a 330 track hoe in 3 feet of snow, he sunk 6 inches, I stepped off the path and was up to my knees.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

I have the Polaris Pro-S tracks on my 09 RZR. They are a lot of fun, but my experience has been that they don't go anywhere. In deep heavy snow they sink, and you are done. Also got stuck on the lake last year ice fishing. There was about 1 1/2' of slush on top of 3' of ice and we kept bogging down. Thank God for the winch. Kept drilling holes in the ice, winch up, and then reset.

Re: Rzr Tracks ??

X2 on the Camoplast tracks. Great flotation (important when you're at 5,000' in the mountains and the city near you at 2,300' got 90+ inches of snow that year). The only time I ever got stuck with tracks on was when I was cresting a hill and was inching along because I wasn't sure what was on the other side...wound up high centered. Quick tug back by an ATV (on tires) and we were off and running. I had a broken hand at the time so digging wasn't an option. The ATV's in our group couldn't have gone on some of our rides if there weren't a couple of us with tracks breaking trail.

Two downsides though. You'll use a lot more fuel and you'll lose a good bit of speed. Don't expect the same kind of fun as a snowmobile...think of it more as trail riding in a different environment.

The pic below is not when I was stuck. However, when I climbed out to take that pic I went in nearly to my waist!
