Very crucial!!!--------- Did they pay full amount back? I took out a rider for accessories and mods. Did you try to buy back your old rzr? If so how much did they ask and how did you go about it?

In my area the buyback value is established by salvage companies at least with my insurer. My XP with mods had an easy $23k of receipts. It was rolled and definitely had a list of repairs. The gray area becomes is it "totaled" or "deemed repairable".

The adjustors and claims writers have been thru these scenarios a thousand times. They know exactly what most guys want to do with it; Get a full payoff and still get the damaged one back for little or nothing. The only way to get a full payoff in theory is that the damaged one is $0. But the damaged one generally has good value left. They are usually very repairable.

My wrecked XP was delivered to the dealer on purpose. The dealer had plenty of time to write a repair - on his turf. From that estimate the insurer lets "salvage" dudes somehow got ahold of it and the photos and bids are submitted. My Polaris dealer said this is common from mini bikes to full dress road bikes to snowmobiles.. been doing it for years, you get it. So my claim was no different, or was it? the difference is how well the interaction goes with your local claims guy, your dealer and yourself.

I did make sure that once the estimate was written and claims guy saw it at the dealer that I drove down and took it back. In my possession. I'm not stupid. I knew the insurer would find it much easier to cut a deal with me rather than the extra burden and uncertainties of the salvage route.

So if it is deemed repairable then the insurer must deduct some amount from the full payoff value. Therein is the gray area. Mitigating factors play in. Like how old it was etc. I sat with the claims guy in his office and we negotiated. Came out OK. I recommend a Friday afternoon. You know.

I'm guessing ten guys with ten different insurers and ten different dealers (same wreck) would get ten different results.

Your insurance company works fast, my mom is a agent and I don't know if shes even that fast on claims.
