I'm just sayin that dust is going to be a problem no matter what u do, it is not like i was degrading someone for coming up with new ways to stop the problem, don't take stuff so seriously. Thats all i'm sayin, dust may be a problem but there probably will be no permanent fix for it u ride in the dirt. Jus take it easy man

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

Got the doors from factoy UTV...
Check my info on that forum.
http://www.rzrforums.net/factory-utv...-doors-12.html
I had a few issues, and they were slow to ship, but are a nice door.
I ordered them with out the powder coat. They were a hundred dollars cheaper. I painted them with Krylon primer and Black Satin Paint and it matches almost perfect to the factory.
The green doesn't match... Not sure of the red, but check out my other posts I gave quite a bit of detail...

This weekend I am working on a receiver mounted canoe rack to get to the upper mountain lakes, that trucks can't get to.

Will post those probably on a different forum..

Also found some water/dust tight cargo boxes at a Army Surplus store here for $20.00....

Hope that helps..

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

New Spoiler/Deflector.....
This is the spoiler that my 14 yr old son had made for me.
The rolled metal is 34" in length and 6" width.
Rolled to a 1/4 pipe
The brackets he made out of Aluminum straping 1 1/2 wide X 5" Length
the bends are at 1 1/4
The bolts we used to mount to the brackets to the deflector are to long, and will be changed, when we remove and paint the deflector

Today we ran the spoiler, and it worked GREAT, all the dust that was swirling never even attached to the window except in the part the that was wider then the deflector.
I would recomend this for a rear window, soft or hard....

Ingenious!

That spoiler dust effect may also explain why I have unusual trails behind my lightbar and lights...

Great idea, it has worked on station wagons, mini vans for years, no reason it won't work on a RZR.

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

Forklifman,
Who are you asking?

If it is me, I have not thought about it but will ask my boy what he could do in Metals on the deflector and what the costs are.
As far as the window.. I would have to make another and see how much time it would take. but if there is an interest, I would make a template and do them with my router, and try and mass produce a few.
I have a cost of about $85.00 or so just in the materials for the rear window, and I think $9.00 in the deflector.

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

Andrews, I think you may have the answer to the dust problem with your spoiler. Give your son a pat on the back! I made a rear window very similar to yours last year and I have had alot of issues with the dust as well. I wish I would have thought of the spoiler. Great idea and thanks for sharing.

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

I use a vented full front windshield and a rear windshield/panel (that I bought off of E-Bay last year) with a hard roof during the dry times of year.

I believe that the vented front windshield with a rear windshield/panel creates a positive pressure in the driver/passenger compartment. In any event, I have not found dust or fumes to be a problem.

We work with what we have, improve, modify, rebuild, its all part of the fun. I for one enjoy working on my RZR as much as I like driving it.

Re: How do you keep the dust out of the cab???

Friedman, part of the problem is the dust getting into the air intake slot between the seats.

That rear deflector looks just like the one on my 1970 Gremlin, it worked great. Hats off to your son for thinking outside the box.
