Which battery to upgrade to? I have been told that my AWD issue might be low batt power and since I have HID replacement lights it's needed anyways. My batt light comes on at night. I may also run two more HID lights on a bumper. So should I use a Honda Odyssey battery or optima yellow top?

Man, I run the Yellow Optima. I cut out just the batter box, took four heavy dute L bracket that I got from Lowe's and mounted them where the old battery went. All you need is a drill to drill your hole through the bracket and some bolts to go through the bracket into the metal rails and a nut and bolt to hold the two L brackets together and drop it in. I also make a batter hold that goes under the L bracket and goes up around the batter to keep it in tight. Zero prolbems.

I put the Odyssey 925 in the stock box with a slight modification to the box. I run 6 HIDs, Baja GPS, 50 watt UHF radio and intercom. with absolutely no issues. IF you are going to run the Optima, Ian at RPM fab has a box for it.

I did a bonch of reasearch on this topic and bought the Odyssey 925L.
Make sure you get the "L" for that is the post pattern for the Rzr.
Some words were there about the longivity of the Optima's which made my decision. It is a straight drop in for my gen3. Compare the specs on both before you make a decision. If you decide on an Odyssey (nothing to do with the honda toy) Call the supplier if on the net and make sure that he has one in stock for there is a demand on this model. I can also give you a installation hint if you do get one,

Probably your best bet...I went far enough to see with a handling charge it was $163 shipped I am sure and that is probably the best you will find price wise...
Odyssey Battery PC925L - Odyssey Drycell Batteries - summitracing.com

The "L" on the end of 925 means the positive is on the right hand side facing the top of the battery so it is like stock and the stock battery wires will reach easily...
Sorry should have mentioned I have a Gen1 so if you have a Gen3 you battery box will accomodate without any problem....
You can turn it sideways in your stock Battery Frame (It will mount everyway but upside down...I cut the frame on the front and bent it out slightly to accomodate the Odyssey 925 better and then installed a good piece off rubber for the Odyssey to sit on and the same stock rubber strap will still go over the top to retain it...

Goggle the Odyssey 925L and you will get a link to the company, no relation to those littls go-carts.
Just shop around on the net, there are alot of suppliers that market these. Shipping can be an issue so some are more or less depending on where you live. Just find there phone # and call to make sure that they have one in stock,

I still run the factory battery with no problems whatsoever. I have HID replacements, a 30" LED light bar and also run a GPS, lighted flag pole, under dash and cabin interior lights. I do make sure before a weekend trip to the dunes I use the battery tender, but never have had a problem with stocker. I have found many RZR's to have a loose connection at the factory grounding point. Maybe that is causing some peoples problems?? Also mine is a Gen 1 from June of 07.

I think using the battery tender has more to do with you not having any problems because a radio and sometimes a gps are the only accessories I have and I can use them for about 4-5 rides and them it will start showing the battery. Then if I unhook them for a while I never get the battery display again until i have had them hooked up for a few rides. I still think your better off to upgrade to a better battery. using that much stuff I would think would be hard on the charging system because it is always trying to catch up.

I "upgraded" because with my Turbo I was finf\ding that on hard steep trails my fan was running more than usual (I expected this when I decided to have the Turbo installed) this coupled with the slower speeds while on the trails was allowing the stock battery to run down.
The larger capacity of the PC925L insures that I will return home from anywhere,

That sounds like a good price, I think mine was around 158 with free shipping.
Did you call and see if they are in stock? My first order was fully electronic only to get a back-order e-mail 2 days latter. Called the # only to find out that they didn't know when they were going to get their order, cancled and web-surfed and voice called (there is a # somewhere on those sites but it may take some digging) to get same day shipping. Let me know if you need my install tip,
John

Thats all I have also ... the stock should be fine ... you didn't change the draw really ...its very close, if not less the the stock lamps. I even have two 4" HID on order and I am not going to change the bat.
