Anyone have AWD issues?

My AWD has work fine up until my last trip to Pismo. The three days we were there it worked intermittently. I got stuck a few times as it would not come on. I tried the switch off then on and it always showed on the gage when the switch was lit up but half the time it was not working. I also tried turning the RZR off and going into park but nothing help it engage. I did notice that a few times the AWD switch was on but it was not engaged then I floored it and it fired on which I though that ant good, it might break like that.

I had it in at the dealer and he checked everything short of opening the diff. He checked connections, ohms, etc. Course the damn AWD worked the whole time it was there. I noticed is working when I loaded it as well. He said it might be getting hot and not expanding/engaging. He said the plate/sprawyeirds might be bent or broke and not functioning correctly. It’s weird to me that it work some of the time.

It does work right now but I’ll be damned if it didn’t half the time those 3 days in Pismo. I brought it home and I said I’d play with it some more. If it happens again he said he’d open up the diff and make an extended warranty claim. Anyone else having intermittent problems?

Re: Anyone have AWD issues?

I had this problem last weekend, Happened twice goining up a sandy hill.
then worked fine for 4 days and was loading it in my truck and it stoped working also. My dealer pretty much said the same to me so im going to wait till it grenades and drop it off at the front door.

My button was also lit up all 3 times it happened.

Re: Anyone have AWD issues?

I belive others have seen this also. It is due to the regulator over heating and not keeping the battery fully charged. The AWD requires 12+ volts to work, which is why it tends to engage at higher rpms.

Re: Anyone have AWD issues?

There maybe something to this. I have HID replacement lights and my batt did show low from using them at night. So the indicator light on the gage would show AWD is on but if the batt is low it will not engage? Anyone else had that happen and or solve the issue with a better battery?

Thanks for the info!
