Bumpers are a good investment. I remember a couple of years back on a hunting trip in Maine, lost a tail light backing up to quick without looking, bumper would have made a diff. The Polaris ones look good and offer good protection. I guess it depends on how agressive you drive.
There's not a lot to mount a bumper too. I like the DG, but I haven't seen it in person. I don't like the stock ones because the top mount attaches to the radiator mount. I think if you hit anything it will fold the radiator mount and may damage the radiator.
These bumpers from Dirt Performance don't use the stock mounting locations. They are the only bumpers that I know of that don't decrease the ground clearance and attach to the frame. These are prototype pics and they should be available soon.
I agree. These are just prototypes. If I get them and they are still making them that way I would have the put a bar on top like the Polaris pre-runner and put light tabs there. These guys are easy to work with and will do whatever you want.
I don't like the light location either, but the frame mount is something I'd be interested in. How a hoop/pre-runner style light mount? Looks like a good start.
Another thing about bumpers that affects me is overall length. I have 11 feet to work with in my toyhauler.
The rear bumper doesn't take any ground clearance away from the RZR, but all the front bumpers other then the ones from DPI above use a thick plate and non reassessed bolts that goes under the front diff area to mount. I would say that you loose a little more then a 1/2" ground clearance at the bolts.
It's nice looking, but bent plate steel doesn't hold up well at all. My buddy got a similar one for his Rhino, but much more substantial. On his first ride with it he bent one side. It was much weaker then the stock Rhino bumper. From that point on he would never lead when doing off trail or trail making. He couldn't even push over a sapling without damaging it. If your just getting it for looks and you never touch anything with it you should be fine. Seams like all the cheap bumpers are made this way. I guess it's easier to work with then tubular steel, but as usual you get what you pay for.
very interesting, my sammi has a Shrockrock plate bumper 1/4 plate. its just fine. and there is not much plate on there, just a few inches. I would not be pushing stuff with a bumper anyway.
but I am not sure if I like the looks, I am going to wait a see if PRM comes out with something I like.
One of my favorite activities with the RZR and my rhino is breaking new trails knocking down trees and what ever else. Where this is allowed of course. Another situation is when I.m ridding at high speed through tight trees. Every so often I catch a tree on the front corner that doesn't give way. The first weak I had my RZR I bent the front A-arm and frame as I had no bumper. I need a bumper to protect against this. That's Why I got the Pre-runner from Polaris. The bent back ends just push the RZR to the side in this situation. To me this is the purpose of a bumper. I wouldn't get one just to say I have a bumper if I didn't intend on using it. I'd be willing to bet you can't even pick the front of the RZR up at either end of that bumper. That hole bumper is plate. The ends are just bent from plate. Your Sammi bumper probably has support closer to the ends than that bumper. I don't think that bumper is 1/4" either, but I could be wrong on that.
Your rite they are expensive. I just assumed they would be cheap after seeing that it was made from plate and never checked the price. They have to be some the most over priced junk on the market.
when looking for a bumper try to find one that fits very tight to the front plastic on the bottom my first bumper stuck out about 3 inchs at the bottom 1 1/2 tube and a 1" or so gap and it hit everything befor the tires did so on our new front bumper V2.4 we tucked it in tight and it helps alot
cooter just for ref i have both front and rear pre runner from polaris and im allmost 10 ft long and with my spacers and off set itp rims im 57 in wide from out side tire to out side tire

You can buy the spare tire part later if you want baecause they now make it removable. The prices on the website are wrong so if anyones unterested let me know and ill get ya pricing.
