Angry Ohio STOP Wayne National Forest Band RZR

In two weeks or so, (I'll try to get an actual date as soon as or if possible) Wayne National Forest officials in Ohio are getting a rzr provided by Polaris. So they can test on their public trail to tell the public whether or not we can continue to ride on our trails. It is something we’ve been doing for two years now in rzr’s. It’s legal now. They fit in all the trails 50 inches and cause no more damage than most, if not all utility quads, let alone tire spinning sport models. Biggest different I can see is the safety factor which is a roll cage and seat belt and the fact a second rider can enjoy the ride with you and also they get twice the money for passenger. Any damage do to their size would need to be offset or cut in half do to there payload and safety factor. I need everyone’s help in stopping this injustice before it really gets started by emailing Wayne officials at r9_wayne_website@fs.fed.us. If you live near or plan to visit this area, or if your tired of loosing public land riding for no good reason, hope some or even better a lot of you take the time to help your fellow riders. Any ideas will be appreciated. Just found out about this a few hours ago let you know if there’s any changes. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

Re: Ohio STOP Wayne National Forest Band RZR

THAT SUX!!!
Here's the email I sent to them!

I recently heard that Wayne National Forest may band Polaris RZR's from their trails.
I have been riding these trails for years. I also purchase yearly passes and all the appropriate permits for everybody that rides with me. I bring all my friends and family. We purchase food, gas ect from the local community every time we camp.
I purchased my RZR in order to allow my wife and children enjoy the trails. If this band takes effect I regret to say that we will not be visiting Wayne National Forest any more. Even though Hatfield McCoy is a little farther away, I will have to take my money and business to a trail system that welcomes side by sides.
You know, it's a shame that gas and everything is more expensive. Even Wayne's yearly pass and 3 day passes have gone up. Banning vehicles that meet the width limits will definitely effect moneys coming into the forest. Take a look, Hatfield McCoy's yearly pass is $48.00. This permit is good for the entire year and ALL the trail systems.

Thank You for your time,
Jared Bell

Re: Ohio STOP Wayne National Forest Band RZR

Heres the email they sent back.
Mr. Bell,

Don't worry for now. I think you're just hearing rumors. We did have some
staff looking at the maneuvarability of RZRs on our trails since they have
lower clearance and we've had some complaints. They rode the trails with a
couple of them to see how difficult it was to get around. That probably
started the rumors flying if they talked to anyone about what they were
doing out there. We've been advising people who ask that if they buy or
bring RZRs to our trails that they might have abit more trouble on some
trails than those who ride traditional ATVs or motorcycles but generally
you can get around on the trails. It was just management looking at what
we provide so we can better answer questions. There will likely be more
public input before any decision is made, if they decide to go any further
with it - and I really can't speak to what they're thinking. But for now-
I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just ride my RZR and enjoy the fall weather.

I don't think they are going to "band" anybody. They might ban you or you may be banned, but for them to band is highly unlikely.

After CanAm and Suzuki come out with their UTV's more pressure will be put on all riding areas. Eventually UTV's will be as welcome as ATV's.
