Check out the current issue of UTV magazine online HERE. On page 71 there is a good article on the MCX turbo with DYNO charts/numbers and some good pictures of an install.

What I found interesting is that they DYNO'd a stock RZR and got 37 HP at the rear wheel. I see ads for all the products(especially exhausts) out there that claim to give HP increases to 40 HP or better for stupid amounts of money. Knowing this now has helped me to save my money for other things. 3 additional hp isn't worth the cash output IMO. If I am going to drop a substantial amount of money on a product to go faster, it had better be more than 3 additional horses. But thats just me.

DFR kit on mine, been running the heck out of it since spring. Runs awesome and with no issues. Good luck in your choice and project!

Remember that not all Dyno's will give the same numbers. You need to look at the gains from start to finish on the same Dyno.
Just as the MCX kit went from 37 to 80 on the Dyno in Sweden, it when from 31 to 70 on the Dyno at Wellers (I have been told). Basically double plus a bit.

"15lbs of boost".........Thats huge, I was under the impression that 8 lbs was the only way to get reliable use out of the MCX.
How many miles do you have on the turbo?
Do you ride sand or dirt?

Re: What is a good turbo and clutch set up?

The MCX kit is designed for 11 PSI on premium pump fuel. it seems a few others like DogoX are proving that it can be run harder.
There are at least a few RZRs running the suggested settings with over 1200 boosted miles.

And in reply to the original question: the clutching will need to be designed around the turbo kit and RZR it is going on an how it is used and where.
Even with a turbo kit, it should be fine for a everyday driving. But with substantially more HP.
The turbo itself will not give the RZR any more top end speed if the clutches are able to shift out completely and hit the rev limit. But it will get there much faster and be able to hold it when others are falling off.

Re: What is a good turbo and clutch set up?

Have the MCX since June, no regrets.
The power is awsume and it's set for 14# of boost, has been since the start.
Recommend that you have a pro install it unless you are a super Mechanic.
The clutch upgrade is a must or you will burn right thru the belts if you mash it. I didn't think about this but the installer knew enought to upgrade the clutch.
You will have to burn premiun fuel and be careful about this. Remember that the person before you probably used low grade and the pump will take some fuel before you get the hi test. I always put 5 gal in the car before I fill my gas cans.
Another item to consider is that the air intake is right behind you head and can be noisy. I always wear ear protection anyway. Friends have said that the exhaust is quieter at least until I'm GONE.

Re: What is a good turbo and clutch set up?

I think is was around 5K installed. I had a lot of upgrades and parts installed at the same time.
By the way I would really recommend at least a 4 pt harness.
