2009 Razr S Ground Clearance Issue

I have a 2009 Razr S I have had it for about 3 weeks now. I adjusted the pre load to about 3/4 the way down to give myself 17 inches of ground clearance the first week I had it. After 2 weeks it had setteled to about 13 and a half inches of ground clearance. I put 28 inch tires on the stock rims and it took it back up to about 15 and 3/4 inches of ground clearance. I measured it today and its at 13 inches exactly. I am thinking either I have 4 bad fox podium shocks and or 4 very weak springs or the shocks/springs arent designed to be exteded all the way up and left in that position, I have reviewed the DVD that comes with the machine and it says to raise them with heavy loads then readjust them to stock afterwards. I think leaving them adjusted up weakens the springs and causes the UTV to settle. Im looking into a lift but I am also very concerned with travel in holes and jumps causing axles to pull out of the splines and or binding and comming apart. Anyone else adjust thiers up and it settle? Other Opinions please?

I can only add that I havent changed from the delivery settings and Im still at 12" of ground clearance. My springs dont appear to have "settled" at all... Unless they were set higher from the factory ( I didnt measure when I first got it)

I hate to hear about the bad luck with the factory setups but I will be the first to say that maybe you should have went aftermarket on all that long arm stuff and turned the wrenches yourself unstead of buying one out of the box that was not tested near as much as these vendors kits were. I bet you they would have given you guys a lot more advice and options on how to fix your problems.Just my 1.5 cents worth!

Re: 2009 Razr S Ground Clearance Issue

You could of bought a 09 standard RZR for 11,000 .. spent 4500.00 for a LT kit ...then another 1000.00 for rims and tire ... another 500.00 for header pipe ...another 400.00 for a clutch kit ...300.00 for fueler and that doesn't include the piston/cam change.

You bought the right one!! I havent noticed any saging ... but I would give Fox a call and see they can or have any different springs or can help you. Sounds like the springs are failing!! Or put it back to stock height, they are under warentee ... nothing is aftermarket! Tell you dealer you keep having to adjust to stay at 12 inches.

17 inches is f-N tall ...

I will defiantly do that, I love the S model. This toy is all that and then some. I got it at Offroad Powersports in Tifton Ga. and those guys over there are awesome. I got it out the door loaded with the extended warrantee for around 15K so needless to say I got it alot less expensive than you could even get a stock one modified. The springs seem to be the only issue I have had with it, and with 12 inches of ground clearance still even with them sagging it rocks. We took it to creek bottom and OMG it was awesome!

Re: 2009 Razr S Ground Clearance Issue

Just remeasured my ground clearance in the garage after riding.... I have 12.5 front and rear clearance. I must have measured incorrectly last time when I got 12, or my suspension is working against the laws of gravity...
