Re: Reverse override

No reverse overide on a rzr that yellow button just changes the functions on the speedo, the 11's have it built into the unit.

Re: Reverse override

I've always been afraid to push it. Figured it might do something bad...

Are you thinking of the Sportsman lineup of ATV's? The rev limiter override button. There is no such button on any RZR ever built.

Reverse? What Reverse? We don't need no stinking reverse.

I've always wondered what that empty hole on the dash of my '11 was for. Guess that explains it!

I was puzzled by the OP - trying to figure out what a "reverse override" is, and what it would do. Does that mean if you put it in reverse it overrides it and makes you go forward?

No empty hole in mine, but the place for one is there. I used it to mount my power light for my PS.

On some Polaris atvs they have a yellow button you can push that will over ride the rev limiter when in reverse so you can get out of a mud hole or other stuff as the rev limiter in reverse is set very low for safety reasons.

Re: Reverse override

Most ATVs with CVT transmission types have this. They won't go more than about 5 MPH in reverse without holding down the button. They give you the button because you need more oomph to get out of mud holes or pop your front end back over the log you're high-centered on.

Sorry, I realized I was noob-baiting earlier. Gotta send me over to the sensitivity thread again.

As a Sportsmen Rider since 2001, I can also say I looked for a override button on my Rzr.....not to override the rev limiter....Its goes plenty fast backwards
but to engage 4x4 drive. There is no 4x4 in reverse without it on the Polaris
and that sucks when your plowing snow! Or stuck in the MUD!
