2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

I just bought a 2008 rzr. The guy installed new fuel pump and some rzr s exhaust. Now the rzr will start and idle fine. But when u drive it slow its fine, push the gas to make it go it pops and cuts out and acts like it cant rev and only goes about 35. At idle in park u can mash the gas and it will rev to 5000 rpms but it doesnt get there quick at all, it slowly climbs there.... Anyone had this problem???? I didnt know if u all thought it would be a fuel issue with not enough fuel pressure or an injector problem... Or maybe a cdi problem... Please help with ideas...

Does it have an aftermarket ECU? If so, unplug it and try it with just the stocker, also recommend checking the fuel pressure.

Injectors are not a likely suspect, pretty trouble free. Do check your voltage and your fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be 39 PSI.

I'm having the same problem. I have a snorkel kit and almost close off all the intake and it runs fine. Not sure what that means.

Re: 2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

Thats about what mine was doing... My rzr also had a snorkel kit when I bought and I took it off and it is still running like that.... I have changed the plugs and they where like a brown burnt color if that helps any.... Like I said it will start and idle fine but no mid to top power at all. I am gonna start checking fuel pressure and voltage tomorrow... Someone had also mentioned that reflashing the computer may also take care of it, any truth to that????

if the fuel pressure is good, put a voltmeter on the output of the tps, make sure it goes through the range smoothly.

Brown burnt color of plugs sounds like she is running lean. Check the fuel pressure...

Re: 2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

ok, thanks everyone for the replies... I done a little checking this morning. Fuel pressure is at 40 when I turn key on on goes down to about 38.5 when running... Voltage is also good and charging good.... Pull injectors and one was dirty but not to bad. I cleaned them and reinstalled.... Pulled throttle body and it was dirty with black film... I cleaned it out with throttle body cleaner... I pulled sensor on top of rubber boot before throttle body and it was almost melted???? I cleaned it off but inner cover on sensor is gone... All it had was a few prongs and a little needle type thing hanging there.... Is this right or is it bad... Is it supposed to have a cover of some sort over needle??? anyways put it all back together, it is reving a little better but still popping through air cleaner and still no top end power???? Maybe a bad sensor on boot or maybe motor problems, any ideas???

also on code that is popping up is 25, which is invalid gear or something, but everyone on here says no big deal.... So no bad codes either...

It sounds like your sensor is shot. I'm having a brain disconnect asto what it is call but it is between thw air filter and the throttle body. It gets fouled and sends bad readings to the ECU. I clean mine frequentlly when these symmptoms occur. It sounds like yours is beyond cleaning,

Re: 2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

its called a t-bap (temp barometric air pressure)
it is definately bad, but wont necessarily make it run bad it comes more into effect at high alt and really cold weather. ive tested it and it does very little for timing. you're popping back through the throttle body, thats why the t-bap is destroyed.
find out why it's popping back throught the throttle body, that is the root of the problem. btw, tps has a huge effect on timing, if it's messed up it will cause you to pop through the intake.

Re: 2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

Thanks for the help... Is the TPS the part that is melted on mine on that boot that goes from air box into throttle body???? or is it the throttle position sensor??? I probably need to check voltage on it and adjust like in forums....

Re: 2008 rzr not running right, no power... help

When my sensor went bad I was seriously running rich, I fouled 2 sets of plugs. When it is bad it will give off a bad reading of altitude,
