bear canyon AZ

I was up at bear canyon lake this weekend when I saw a hispanic male smack his wife and then throw two beer cans, a tub of worms, and a broken fishing pole into the lake. I confronted him about his actions and he challenged me to a fight. As I was walking towards him to take him up on his offer I realized I was still wearing my gun on my hip as I often do when in the bush. At roughly the same time he saw the gun and began backing up. I felt like a moron because I knew he could not advance, and neither could I until the gun was gone. So here is this total dirtbag who can't even threaten me in english, and he gets a free pass because I am enacting my second ammendment right in a country that demonizes me for doing so. He continues to berate me and demand to know "waa'chu'pro'bem" because he knows if I jerk my pistol and go to work I follow with a trip to jail. I can't throw my gun into the lake and fight him because I paid good money for the heat. So what now? He leaves threatening me in a language I can't understand and I feel like the chump because I didn't throw down and beat his drunk a$$ into submission. He beat his wife, trashed our natural resource, and walked away because I didn't want to risk prison...WTF.
I know logically that he was not worth the fight but it is the basis of that argument that allows so many wrongful behaviors to go unchecked in our society.
So I ask, What to do if it happens again. As a jury of my peers, how justified or crazy am I?
I do not think I am prejudiced, but I am continually pushed in this direction which I do not wish to go.
How many times must it occur before prejudice is rational, and what can I do to keep said named jacka$$ from ruining our parks, and his wife's face?

Re: bear canyon AZ

I seriously thought I was alone in this argument.

Thank you for pointing out another direction, with the video's.

BTW, calling the cops was out of the question because it would have taken me almost 2 hours just to hike and drive out to an area where I would get reception enough to call Coconino county sherriffs office, I had my 60 yr old mother with me of all people and had to spend half of the time keeping her off this jacka$$. She was yelling and getting in the middle of this all. But even though we did not want to state the obvious this guy yelled as he was leaving that ...and I quote( my interpretation of his statement) ..."I do this in mexico, and Mexico is here now Bitch."
I may be wrong but I felt it was a big F U in the face of us all.

Re: bear canyon AZ

You did all you could do... besides a phone call to the sheriff's office. Breaking up the ordeal and redirecting the ahole to you is a temporary fix. Weather or not you fight him, he will do the same again and possibly take it out on his wife later. That is more accepted in their culture. Actually his wife would probably attack you in defense of her husband. If it were me, I would have said something also and then backed off, call the authorities if possible (you NEED some record of events), then if he advances, you have to protect yourself. Here in AZ we can chose CCW and I highly recomend it. You may have the choice to knock this guys block off and if need be you have backup! What if you tossed your firearm and next thing he pulls one out from his beltstrap. I understand your frustration... but glad you can tell the story here and not somewhere where your sitting next to Bubba in a small room or worse, dead.

Don't be to hard on yourself! This was not your situation, you were pulled into it. You did what you could.

Re: bear canyon AZ

I totally understand your frustration and Hotlicks is probably right on this one. Beating him to a pulp wouldnt solve the issue and only give his wife something else to deal with. All hell, give the gun to your mother and teach him a lesson, then pump a couple rounds into the rear tire of his car. The wetback wont be calling the cops. Next time he'll think twice about trashing our home.

Re: bear canyon AZ

Id shot him in the big f toe. Accidental shootings happen a lot here in WV. He would have probally have fallen pretty bad from My side arm accidentally going off. Don't give them rights that they have no right too. If alliens want the same rights let them pay taxes and play by the same rules. yeah I d shot the fucker in the foot for sure.

Re: bear canyon AZ

After thinking about your situation more in depth, I think you missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity for a KICKA$$ tag team event. Send your mom in for the first blow and no jury would side against you. The drunk guy probably couldnt punch straight, although sounds like the woman is used to a beating. Good match, but I think you could have taken them. Think about the stories you couldve told the grandkids.

Re: bear canyon AZ

i have had similar confrontations like u with this. we went out riding stopped at a campfire where there were white guys (everyone else was mexican) next thing i know a mexican girl comes running up screaming. apparently this mex guy tried to rape her and she stabbed him in the neck. he showed up completely covered in blood and drunk. we all told him to go to hell and kept the girl with us until he was long gone. i've had other experiences but i'm learning where they hang out in the desert and try to stear clear. nothing but trouble!

What the wetback said is true "Mexico is here now bitch", they are in our
country, and they are in our pockets, and there is nothing you can do
about it.

Re: bear canyon AZ

culture or not... if he (the hispanic) knows he's in the country of "rights" and "privilages" then she(his woman) would also know.... henceforth she would know her rights here in America if she was "legal" she has the right to walk away.... we pay enough taxes for shelters for abusive situations.

personally i would have unloaded a few in his tires... or made him dance...

Re: bear canyon AZ

I have mixed emotions about the whole thing, I appreciate the responses none the less.
What has become of our country, I mean we are no longer allowed to stand up and do whats right for fear of jail time or a major civil suit, or being convicted of a hate crime. All the while this guy gets to go on wife beating and defiling the few pristine natural areas we have left (due to severe overpopulation I might add).
I try not to stereotype groups negatively but when it is repeatedly thrust into our faces it is almost immpossible not to.
I did not make it a race/cultural issue by using slurs, he pointed out so clearly that he was doing what Mexicans do and that they now outnumber natural born citizens in many states thereby empowering them to act as they please. I feel helpless to save our country from becoming the third world slum that is the majority of their country. It seems as a nation we will sit idly by as we are passively over run.

Re: bear canyon AZ

I have just one more comment...

Damn, Dirty Mexicans,

If sounding like a redneck is the only way to get a reaction... So be it!

This land is my land!!!
Go Home, make your country worth living in and take pride in that!! Rather than over running our country with behaviors that are not welcome here.
