Is the transmission and main gearcase one unit that is checked, drained and filled as one? Or is it two separate things?
Also, I see two fill holes. But one says "fill left, level below" I've looked and looked and can't find the "level below" hole. Could someone please tell me where to find it?
Two seperate compartments.
See fill below is a 1/2" head bolt. It is a level check. You fill it from the top until fluid comes out the bottom hole.
Clear as mud??? lol
Wow, now I am confused. I thought the "level below" hole is actually to the right of the fill hole as you are looking at the trans. Directly next to (or to the rear of) the shift linkage on the transmission I thought that was the check plug?? Fill plug is only a slight bit higher up and closer to the front is what I understood. Or am I wrong on this??? Someone please post pics of the trans fill and check plugs please!! I thought it was fairly simple to see but maybe I even have it wrong bc now I seem confused!!!
Thanks! I had been trying to make sense of the drawing in the service manual to locate the level check, but just couldn't find it. I expected it to look like the fill hole plugs not a normal hex head.
