This is cheeper and works awesome. This is a air intake system off of a T-190 Bobcat...Zero dust ingested since going to it.. Minor fab work to get it going....

Re: Who is using the DF air filter system?

We like to use the UMP filter that utilizes the donaldson filter and I believe retails for around 360.00

Re: Who is using the DF air filter system?

The only issue I heard with the UMP is it is more constrictive then the larger setups. I thought Mega or someone else here dyno'ed the UMP and it turned out less power with the UMP then stock???

that filter shares the same design/features as the BTI Cyclone and UMP.
Good find.
Just curious...
how did you end up mounting it/ what did you use to mount it?
how much did you spend on the filter assembly?
how close does your tire come to the "burp valve" hanging down in your picture.

Donaldson FPG series. G070017 3” I/O, 13” body L. 7.18” diam.
https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/W...087&item=16141

$102.74 from Superior Diesel:
AIR CLEANER, FPG RADIALSEAL (G070017)

This can looks like a perfect fit on the Rzr. Same length on the canister body. The inlet on this canister won't line up with the stock air horn but if you are planning to snorkel or duct your intake it should be an easy job to adapt to it. Especially for $103 vs. $450 for basically the same thing in an aluminum can.

The Donaldson FRG system has the finned filter baffle:
G065541 15.44” body L. 6.55” diam.
https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/W...88&item=175503
$113.91 from Superior:
AIR CLEANER, FRG RADIALSEAL (G065541)
Might be a better performer but it is 2.5" longer than the FPG can so might not fit.

Another brand of very similar filter systems is Baldwin.
http://www.baldwinfilter.com/products/airhousing.pdf
One that combines some of the best attributes of the Donaldson filters is the HSG3060 which has the finned baffle on the primary filter and the cap and filters are held to a central threaded rod by wingnuts:

HSG3060 Heavy Duty Air Cleaner 3” I/O, 12.5” body 7.89” Diam.

Haven't found an online source yet but there's a distributor search on their website. A local source has it for $157.00 but I bet we can do better than that :-)

Now I haven't tried any of this stuff but I've been looking into it for months as I've tried to make the stock system work.

Re: Who is using the DF air filter system?

Since you do away with the stock boot from the factory airbox to the throttle body, it moves this 16" unit inboard. There is no way the tire can hit the can or burp valve.. We built a bracket and welded it to the can which boltes to the upper frame triangle ,stock bolts on the left side.. Added an "O" ring to the lid and have not sucked a morsal of dust in three races.. This pic shows a portion of the bracket that mounts to the can. This whole system was $210 dollars and the filters are readiley avalable ..Great thing is no Freaking Cleaning or dealing with re jizzing filters..

Re: Who is using the DF air filter system?

I actually just got my intake from F2 racing today and I will be installing it this weekend. Someone asked if the F2 mounts to the engine, and yes it does, it also uses the PVT vacuum to self clean the airbox which someone already mentioned. I will post results of this setup as soon as I get a few test runs in. The company was very confident in this system and they offer a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied or still suck dust......so I figured I will give it a try, what do I have to lose, if it sucks I will just send it back and get my money back, but I seem to think it will work fine. I will be sure to post the results for you guys.

Re: Who is using the DF air filter system?

Georgia4x4 does the bobcat filter have 3" intake & outlet? What did you use to connect it to the throttle body? I was planning on using the stock boot but I struck out with the Baldwin filter pictured above--it's discontinued and they haven't updated their website in a year
My runner-up Donaldson G070017 is longer than stock so I may have to replace the boot, too.

--This is all assuming I don't give up this time-consuming search and just buy the UMP & get on with life.
