2017 900 S Zerk fittings, little surprised

I asked in a thread on here a few months back about how many zerks and their locations on the new gen RZR's , 900 s. It was mentioned that their were about 20 zerks in total.
Well, my new 900 S has 6 zerks. 2 on the front sway bar, 2 on the rear sway bar and 2 on the drive shaft. None on the A arms. Makes it easier for me to service. Any idea on why they removed all the A arm zerks? Is there a new A Arm design on the 17's.? just curiouse as to why the change. Are greaseless bushings better?

Cheaper to manufacture.

My opinion it was a cost cutting measure. I am not happy about it myself and made sure to mention it in the polaris owners survey I was recently sent.

I would believe it is an improvement....as long as the bushings are a better material. Obviously the previous design with zerks wasn't good or there wouldn't be so many aftermarket replacements....which don't use the zerks/grease.

They completely changed the bushing design on the 17's. It's now fully sealed by an o-ring cap on both ends. I believe the idea is to grease them during assembly and leave them alone.

They did this to eliminate contamination in an effort to increase bushing life. This actually costs them more money per unit now due to more machining and more components per assembly. I'd say this is most definitely a case of Polaris stepping up not stepping down.

Thanks,

Think about it. Look under your new car these days and will not usually find any grease zerks. New technology moving forward.

Yep, the new a-arms use o-rings to seal out the gunk.

Kinda wish SuperATV would have utilized that concept in their 17+ 1000/General a-arms.
