Single Seat UTV

Now with all the hype of the new 900 XP out, I'm curious...If Polaris built a single seat sport 4X4 UTV with decent storage would anyone buy it? I rarely have a passenger and would love to see it happen within the next yr or so. It would give them some time to work the bugs out before I traded my 2010 in for one. I don't know of anyone that produces one yet at least not a 4X4. I guess it wouldn't be called a side by side anymore. Any interest in something like this?

Re: Single Seat UTV

Ive thought about it too. I think it would be a cool machine. They would maybe be able to get that down to the 50" wide with LT. 4x4 would be a must.

Re: Single Seat UTV

No market for it. The same people that would want a single seat would also want it to go faster & with more travel & stability. Most things you need 4X4 for aren't about high speeds.

Re: Single Seat UTV

I think a machine where the driver sat infront of the rider would be cool.. Thing about it you could move the driver more foward to keep the weelbase short. You would be able to have a LT and still keep the width down. Most agree a little longer wheel base helps more then hurts.. Something between a RZR and RZR4. with two seats inline with each other.. Sort of a cross between a quad and a SXS..

Re: Single Seat UTV

cool! single seaters provide a totally different mindset. make it fast small and long travel and they would sell. would have to be substantially faster than a sxs to work. that would be so cool! still want a pilot after all these years.

Re: Single Seat UTV

Totally interested. I thought that Honda would have done a single seater instead of that thing they came out with, being they had the odyssey and pilot.

Just make it like a redline, with AWD but don't price it like a redline. Make it a little lighter than the RZR with S suspension, but slimmer to fit in ATV trails, and the same HO 800 to start. It would be perfect. Then do like 8ball said with the inline. Then they could move up to the XP single lineup.

I ride with sport ATVs and there is not a whole lot of people that like to ride with me now, They say I drive ridiculously fast. I even made one puke. Only the younger crowd like my riding style... So a single seat UTV would not be a bad choice for me.

There is always a market... Big market? Probably not.

Re: Single Seat UTV

Just make your own.... Or place an order for about 5000 units, from some manufacturer and then re-sell under your own chosen name ... and then deal with customers first hand etc. ... entrepreneur in the works, right..?

Re: Single Seat UTV

That's what I'm waiting for... Redline is way too wide even if it had 4wd. 50" single seater with 75hp and 75mph built to be unstoppable in the trails, rocks, water and mud. I can't see how people think there is no market when people are still talking about the Honda pilot after 20... yes 20 years and they sell for 4 times the original price in mint condition.
