CA Toy Hauler Suspension upgrade

I have a 28' Stealth Toy Hauler travel trailer, which is being pulled by a Ford F250. When fully loaded with 160 gallons of water, 40 gallons of gas, our S1000 two seater and the usual supplies the trailer was very prone to shimmying much above 60 mph. I have air bags on the truck, torsion bar hitch and sway control. All of the bits and pieces help, but nothing cured the shimmy.

I talked to my local suspension guy and he suggested Dexter EZ Flex system for the trailer. What a difference! On our maiden trip with the EZ Flex system, the fully loaded trailer we could clip along at 70 mph and still be rock steady. We hit side winds that were gusting to 20 mph and you could feel the trailer move a little, but it would snap right back in place.

On the way back we had dumped black and grey water and was down to 10 gal. of gas and 30 gallons of water and there was change in the way the rig handled.

I know a lot of members have complained about this problem and have resorted to backing their SXS's in to better center the weight. With this setup I found that wasn't necessary.

My setup was around $450 installed. There is also the MORryde system which is very similar to the EZ Flex. My suspension guy said they both equally as well.

Just thought I'd pass the info along.

$450 installed. That's worth it, if it included the bronze greasable bushings.

That's interesting.

Re: Toy Hauler Suspension upgrade

I came in to suggest what you did. I put them on my previous Toy Hauler. Our new ToyHauler cam with them already on it from the factory. I have put them on on every trailer that we own. 4 plus the RV trailer. My cows like the way they ride now. Easy to install.
