What oil do you guys like?

2016 900s here purchased used(barely) I have 240 miles on it and began researching oil changes.
It seems Polaris brand oil may be somewhat inferior.
What do you guys recommend ?
I was wanting to ride Saturday but now I'm wanting to check and replace engine oil trans oil and front diff oil , anything else ?

Re: What oil do you guys like?

My 2013 XP4 has 3400 miles and has only been serviced by my local dealer using Polaris oil.
That is what I will continue to use.

Re: What oil do you guys like?

There's nothing wrong with Polaris oils.

However, the best oil is clean oil of the correct type and viscosity.

Re: What oil do you guys like?

Polaris Oils in all 3 RZR's I've owned and never any issues. There are a lot of people that assume Polaris oil is "inferior", but Polaris must test their oil when validating products. I assume if it holds up during Polaris testing it will easily handle the way I use my RZR. Why guess with other fluids, when you can get Polaris oil at the dealer or just order on Amazon and have it deliver in 2 days.

Re: What oil do you guys like?

Most mechanical issues are caused by neglect and abuse. There will always be the rare exception to that rule but for the most part if you keep it lubed, feed it clean fuel and air, it will last a long time. Never under estimate the importance of clean air.

Re: What oil do you guys like?

Most of these oil threads are just silly! Fact is pretty much any brand oil will last way longer than you should keep it in your machine. The reason you're changing your oil in these machines is not because the oil breaks down. It's because the oil gets dirty due to the environment is operated in. Sure you can spend the money and use Amsoil, but when you change it out you're throwing away dirty oil that still has hundreds of hours of viscosity left. When you buy cheap no name oil, you change it out when it gets dirty and it still has hundreds of hours of good viscosity left. That being said most oils come from one of very few refineries, or for synthetics chemical plants. They can tell you all about the fantastic things their oil does, or what they put in it. But Polaris doesn't make oil they just put their name on it. Moral of the story change your oil often, more often if used in very dusty environments and you'll have a clean engine. More importantly-much more importantly- keep your air filter clean and change it often.

Rotella T6. Was using Polaris and Amsoil previously. After researching and speaking to some people, T6 will work just fine.

Re: What oil do you guys like?

Lots of people have great luck with Polaris oil. I think a lot of people try cheaping out (not saying you are) and pick a different brand. In the grand scheme of things, it's one of the cheapest things in your RZR...just do the Polaris and go have fun.
