acad54.................

Hey , We are in the same boat as you , except ours didn't quite go end over end, our kid rolled it, going to fast hit a jump & over it went ! He went on the right side, then up on the nose, then over on the left side, messed it up good. The worst part is.........it was brand new 40 miles, my husband just bought it for me, I only rode it 15 minutes & Next thing I knew he rolled it. Spent $1400.00 on new plastic & lots of other parts, it's still off so just got a new frame today.
BTW, have you changed your shocks from the stock ones ?? We are gonna get the Walker Evans shocks while they have it all taken apart to change the frame.
Best part is no injuries here either, thats the important thing, thank God for seat belts & helmets !
Glad your ok also !

bulldawg...............

Yeah maybe we could straighten it, we have a snatch block & winch, however this is my brand new RZR & thank goodness I have a sweet hubby, & he is gonna make it right. It would never be the same if we leave the bent up frame on there. My RZR is gonna be tricked out so sic !

Re: Lets discuss rollovers!!

bend a frame its weakend restraighten it its even weaker bad idea to straighten frames on somthing that gets abuse like a rzr and im not calling anyone out here but its completely stupid to straighten a roll cage and dangerous for the next roll

I'm curious if anyone has rolled an 09. Looking to see how the new rollcage holds since they beefed it up.

Thanks ohiotodd..................I wasn't trying to be snippy either. I just don't want to take any chances. That's why we are getting a new frame today. Hubby is going to weld in the Gusset kit too. I am pretty excited. I want to find some cool graffix too !
Thanks for your opinion.

Re: Lets discuss rollovers!!

We were at St. Anthony's dunes last June the temp's were running in the low 100s thought it would be nice to cool off in Egan lake..... I was driving through the edge's of the water to splash it up on us, lots of fun until we hit a spot about 6" deep......... Two tires on dry sand and two tires in the water, low speed about 10 or 12 mph we went sideways, then up and over we went.... minor scratches. I had to change the belt before we could leave because of oil over flow. Thanks to DFR seat belts and our helmets we were able to laugh it off.

I have an 09 rolled it pretty hard after only owning it for about 2 weeks. Of course it punched a couple holes in the body where everyones does. Scratched things up pretty bad. The cage amazingly held up great. I am not sure how much stronger the 09 vs 08 cage is but I was amazed it wasn't bent with how hard it went over. New plastic is here and going on as soon as I can move well enough to get it on. Still hurts to move.

Re: Lets discuss rollovers!!

Interesting thread to say the least. I am seeing a trend though in almost all of the posts about rollovers. In most cases it appears the cause of the roll over is related to driver error in so much as an inexperienced driver and or "hot dogging".

My questions to everyone who has rolled their RZR are:

1. What type of driver training or off road vehicle/ATV training/experience did you have at the time of your rollover?

2. Since your rollover have you sought out any type of off road driver training or changed your driving habits?

Re: Lets discuss rollovers!!

are you serious??? off-road rriver training.... you learn from your mistakes... if you turn to sharp and it rolls then slow down to turn that sharp next time ... you dont need training to drive a 4 wheeler .. just go and learn on the fly..

Re: Lets discuss rollovers!!

I had my father in law (250lbs) in the passenger seat of my "S" and we did a tight left hand circle. Since my side was light, we went up on two wheels and then landed safely, but boy oh boy with only 30 minutes on it, I realized that this new toy, was new to me as a driver, and I didn't have any type of feel for it yet. Ive taken things a bit easy until I can learn its limits. (Fingers crossed)
