Destination Polaris TV Show

Last April the Destination Polaris TV crew flew out to Arizona and went on a 5 day beach ride with us in Mexico on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). We started in Puerto Penasco went to El Golfo, lots of side trips, then back to Puerto Penasco. It took a year of planning to pull it off but it was awesome. Lindsay Hayes, the host of the show, and the two Videographers, Eric and Gram, were so much fun to work with, they definitely know their stuff.

We had 18 RZR's, 40 people and did almost 350 miles. I had talked to one of the local restaurants and they agreed to cater lunch on the beach for us free of charge just to be in the show. The show is supposed to air this coming Sunday on Fox Sports Network. I know in some markets its getting bumped to Tuesday due to sports but whatever day it airs be sure and check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Re: Destination Polaris TV Show

Now that is an episode I want to see! Sounds like a dream trip. Thanks for the photos.

My DVR records the series whenever they are on. In the Rockies and Utah they are on the Root Sports Chanel.

Destination Polaris TV Show

Enthusiastic viewer here, seen every show and even planned a long-distance family vacation to one of the spots featured on an episode. Really love the show, there's nothing else out there like it.

Does anyone know the dates of the season? AKA the times of the year when new episodes air? I visited the Destination Polaris website - no love posted there, and my Fox Sports channel does not differentiate between new episodes and re-runs. To make it worse they don't even add a unique description for each episode. So sometimes I wake up and my DVR has recorded 15 of them!! Without knowing the "new season" dates the only way to know if they are new or re-runs is to start watching each one of them - PITB!

Last several weeks has ALL been reruns. And I'm getting tired of spending so much time watching each one to only find out it's a re-run. Knowing the season dates would go along way!

Re: Destination Polaris TV Show

BeachRider would your name happen to be Rick Servatus? If you are please forgive the spelling of your last name as I'm going from memory from watching that particular episode of the show. That looks like the ultimate ride! I used to race my dirt bike in the Sonoyta to Rocky Point race back in the late 1980's and early 1990's (ADRA days) and loved that race. I lived in Yuma for a while and I had some friends that had it set up to ride dirt bikes one way from El Golfo to Rocky Point. I always wanted to go but some thing always came up and I never got a chance to go. I used to go to Rocky Point at least twice a year, but I moved away from Arizona from 2005 until 2012 but I'm in Flagstaff now. I've heard from some people it's changed and it's a little sketchy going to Rocky Point, but others have said it's still fine. From the show it seems as though you all didn't have any issues. If you have an organization that is open to the general public I really like to join up.

Ha, my cover has been blown. Yes, my name is Rick Servatius and I spent a year coordinating the Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) to El Golfo ride with Destination Polaris. It was a fantastic ride and the DP crew were amazing to work with.

We are a group of friends who call ourselves the "Rocky Point Renegades" and do this ride twice a year and invite anyone who wants to tag along for an adventure. We just did the ride again this last April 21st and had 31 RZR's and over 60 people join us. We will do the ride again this coming October 2017 but the date hasn't been set yet. If you log into our Facebook invitation page:

https://www.facebook.com/RockyPointrzr/

it will keep you up to date on when the next ride is, probably towards the end of October.

In answer to your concerns about the safety of going to Mexico. I've owned a house in Rocky Point for over 12 years and never once have I ever felt threatened or unsafe. I live in the Phoenix, AZ area (Scottsdale) and there are places here in town that I would not walk down the street at night and the same goes for Mexico. You just need to be aware of your surroundings and watch your property. We travel on this ride in a very large group and the locals that we encounter have all been wonderful and very accommodating to us.

If you have any questions or want more info on the ride please post it on the Facebook page, there are several of us that monitor it and can hopefully provide answers.

Hope to see you on our next ride. BeachRider (aka Rick Servatius)
