Re: New Rzr S

Simple they are gay about honoring "Polaris". Spy photos of the 08 RZR were out in Feb 07 and I knew more about the RZR then than my Dealer from forums. That new RZR looks sick! What do you know of details? I bet the MSRP is going to be like $15K. Looks like +4 arms. Shocks look like WERs. Guess WER is building 3000 sets of shocks for the RZR... I'm just wondering if it's going to have a bigger motor?

Re: New Rzr S

This is what one guy is saying "the RZR S is the same frame as the current RZR. They extended the control arms 3 inches on each side, giving it more travel anda wider stance. It also is clutched differently to get to a higher speed, since it's much more stable."

Re: New Rzr S

That has me thinking...I'm not very knowledgeable about engines. But the current RZR is a 800CC Four Stoke Twin Cylinder...and the new 850 Sportsman has a 850 V-Twin Engine, what's the difference other then the 50 more CCs?

Re: New Rzr S

No the current 800 motor is actually 760cc and the new engine is 850cc. But it does not look like that engine is going in the RZR just the Sportsman as posted that it was to be a bit more speedy with clutch mods. Still not clear but one thing is 90cc is alot. That 850cc engine makes 70HP compaired to the 760cc engine is 50HP or 55HP I think. Those numbers are at the crank not to the ground though. I bet the arms are not chromolly (I was wrong they are) and I'm sure the added suspinsion arms and shocks will add $3K+. I'd say MSRP is $1399.00. We need the guy to post more details of the RZR on that other forum! Anyone a member holla at yo boy and get the happs!

When they do put the 850 motor in the RZR that will be sick!

Re: New Rzr S

No talk on that other thread in the magazine about a redesigned air filtration system. We laugh at our own misfortunes? Atleast all the people who purchased recently won't have to worry too much about a new engine yet, but I'm sure some of the aftermarket companies are going to be putting that 850 engine in the RZR. Should be comprable to the weber motor.

Re: New Rzr S

I'd be surprised if they don't redesign the air intake. That's just stupid!! lol Polaris is supposedly saying you have to clean your filter every 20 mins... lol ya right! Someone had posted that the filter was going to be much larger and maybe a different air inlet location. I fixed mine so no biggy there. I would like the 850cc engine. I think they are smart to wait. Keeps owners happy and hey they are still the best thing going.

Until they get some real competition (Can-Am) then why change much other than snatch up the after market $$ with longer arms and shocks. That’s nothing for them to add. Looks like they are being pretty smart. Don't worry sponsors I don't see Polaris mods competing with the ppl who buy LT kits. More so just squeezing a bit more out of the guys who probably wouldn’t buy LT kits.
