Rzr Burned To The Ground

Well,I had a great night.Just got my RZR back from the dealer with a new motor that I had to pay for.We never made it 2 hours and smelled smoke. After looking around the fields my girlfriend noticed it was coming from behind my seat and when I looked behind her seat I saw flames. We stopped and ran and after about 50 feet turned around to see and hear the gas tank catch.Took about 60 seconds after we got out to be fully engulfed with flames about twice as high as the RZR and massive black smoke.Amost started a forest fire but the wind died down enough for us to stomp out about a 50 foot diameter cicle.Somehow this is going to be my fault too. This dealership is the best

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

I already talked to lawyer on Tuesday about the last motor not being covered under warranty. He said I have to take them to small claims court because it was only $4500 but with the service records that I had I would win.Now I'm going to have to prove it was there fault that it caught on fire and I can't even figure out how it happened in the first place.

I've gotta second that statement,
RIDENOW is horrible both in quality of service, and customer service!!
I found one of the few if not the only NON-ridenow dealership in the area to buy my RZR from, I had to drive an hour each way but it was worth it not to deal with those ridenow a55ho1es.

Sorry, not to take this thread in a whole different direction.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

This happened pretty much on my first ride since I picked it up with new motor last Sat. I had rode it in my yard maybe twice for 10 minutes each time and last night was our first chance to go for a ride and we were only 1 hour from our house
What could cause it to catch fire? All the wires are plug and play.Only thing I can think of is somehow they installed the LTE exhaust touching the bed somewhere?

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

Ya,I was mad that I got denied warranty on my seized motor because I had a snorkel on for 7 hours even though the dealership saw all the dirt past the stock filter and saw it burning oil before I installed it.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

I just installed the Afcos too and the ride was so much better.Never bottomed out on rocks that were on the same trails that I always take.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

They could have routed a wiring harness against the frame. Take a very closelook for harness that may be touching the frame in a tight or pulled manner (hard to find now). Compare the photo's of a stock unit with no issues and match the routing.

If it was a loose/pinched or broken fuel line that would seem tough to find if it's now in a pile of rubbish.

OH man...the AFCO's, NOW even I'm pissed, those badboys are awesome.

I hope you were insured and the adjuster will do some looking.
