Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

Sorry to hear about the loss. If you take them to court I hope it doesn't take for ever to get resolved. I guess I will have to point my rear view mirror behind ours seats. I'll have to ask my dealer (did not buy from Polaris & they have there own warranty) if such a thing is covered

Good Luck!!!!!!

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

let your insurance deal with it, give them all the facts & documentation. Their resources are much greater than yours, & it would be in their best intrest to prove fault (get out of paying!)

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

Dgal, you're not going to accept another Rzr if offered, are you? I think you need to move on and get something different. Seriously.
You will never really be able to trust another Rzr, IMO.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

Even if Dgal has full coverage insurance they most likely will not pay. It is a mechanical issue and not an accident. It would be like your insurance paying for a blown transmission.Had you crashed the RZR and it started fire you would be covered.
This really sucks Dgal, I am sorry it happened and I'm sure we all feel your loss.
Go back to the Stealership and demand compensation. When they say no, pony up the retainer for an attorney since you and yours could have been injured there may be punitive damages to award so you can get a new RZR or 2 with LT.
Oh, and just incase you did install the afco's after you got it back, I may not mention that. they'll probably say that you caused it while installing the shocks.

I do not have insurance and just got back from dealer. The owner wanted me to leave it there untill he heard back from Polaris as to what to do.He figured they would send out a investigator.I told him I needed it for evidence that he could take pictures and I will bring it in when the investigator gets here(whenever that happens).I go on holidays tomorrow till next Friday and if they don't have a acceptable solution then I'll decide what to do.Would probably do a bit of harm to the dealership if I parked out front with a sign saying"Polaris RZR for sale-less than 2 hours on brand new motor. All servicing done by S h z Motorsports".I don't even want to start adding up the aftermarket and Polaris accesories,it will kill me
I have a couple more pics from camera but they are a bit too big to upload. Can I send them to someone to make a bit smaller and post for me?

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

Holy crap the rims melted, is that a puddle of melted aluminum on the ground?

From the looks of the hillside you must have had quite the scramble to keep it from
becoming a wildfire.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

you may want to be present & talk with the inspector when he/ she arrives. sounds like they're getting their insurance involved!!

Another 2 couples that live close by saw the smoke and rushed over to help. They drove because they lived about a mile away but the smoke was intense and they couldn't believe it came from a small vehicle like that.It took about 5 minutes i guess till the flames were down to about a foot high and the wind died so we all started throwing dirt on the grass and stomping it out.I was more worried about a forest fire.Luckily we just had thunder ,lightning and torential rains 2 days ago so the grass was green.
I'll let everyone know what happens next Friday.I want to be fully compensated for every penny I spent on this machine or it will go to court and I will not accept another or even 4 more RZRs.Or for that matter any Polaris product.Luckily I still have a Brute Force 750.

Re: Rzr Burned To The Ground

The very first mod I would do next time is a fire suppresser.I hope all of you listen and hope no one ever catches on fire like this.
