Oil level going UP??

I have 90 Miles on mine, not alot I know but when I picked it up new I checked the oil level and it was right on the "safe" mark, now it is approx 1/4" above and have not riden in water etc, I check it in the same place and always after a ride and even after it is parked for the night, still shows 1/4 inch above safe WHY???

Re: Oil level going UP??

My oil was also 1/4" above safe when it was new, but I didn't check it until after my first ride. I changed it soon after because I didn't like it being over full. I found that when changing the oil, it didn't hold exactly the amount it called for - 2 quarts. The dipstick showed full just shy of 2 quarts. To see oil rise, could be: gas blow by, water, not having let all the oil drain into the crankcase before checking, dipstick not being pushed in all the way (these are some things I've done before so I always check oil a couple of times ). I wouldn't worry about it unless it rises anymore

Re: Oil level going UP??

Thanks, I am planning on changing it before I ride again and make sure I keep an eye on it.
